  Beomgyu was walking around in the forest in his backyard with his friends, they talked and began picking flowers for eachother and laughed so much while putting the flowers and leaves in eachothers hair, all but beomgyu's—which was fine, he liked daffodils anyway, its fine.

"Huening-ahh~ could you pick one for hyung too?" He cooed in a joking tone, but kai didn't hear him and continued playing with soobin. He sat on a log and laughed it off despite feeling stupid and embarrased, it was fine though, Soobin's funnier and better to be around anyways.

"Taehyun do you wann-"

"Soobin hyung stop!!" the boy laughed whilst running away from soobin. He scratched his hair but just chuckled softly while looking at the small stream of water and the koi fish. Then they came back in his direction and he stood up to recommend watching and taking photos of the fish— but they were too focused in eachother. They were having so much fun so beomgyu didnt mind and just watched them smiling and jumping around, even thouhmgh was left out.

The brunette suddenly turned around and there was a deer afar from him, it was beautiful and majestic looking. "Hyung– theres a deer!" He said looking back at soobin pointing. "wait hold on ill see in a second." He replied while tying taehyuns shoe laces, then the deer was gone out of sight. Beomgyu heaved a sigh then sat back down on the log. Soobin came behind him then looked around in the trees but the deer wasn't there.

"Ahh its gone..too bad." He shook his head then went back to Taehyun and Kai where they continued playing and making new inside jokes—that beomgyu normally would be inside of. Instead he was watching them from a distance trying to understand.

"Guys, do you wanna go to the store and get some things for the picnic now?" Beomgyu asked. "Why a picnic suddenly?" Soobin asked while ticking Kai. "We..agreed to have one remember?" He mumbled looking at Soobin with dissapointed eyes. "When, why?" Taehyun responded while walking over to Beomgyu genuinely confused about what he'd say.

"For my birthday..its March thirteenth today.." He said, feeling a lump in his throat. "What? I thought your birthday was the fifteenth..im sorry I didn't get you something." Huening pouted while going over and rubbing his back. "No, its fine really." Beomgyu said softly. Kai smiled. "I wont forget next time I promise!" He giggled then skipped over to Taehyun.

'you said that last year' Beomgyu hummed in response not believing Hueningkai at all.

He waved them goodbye before going in the opposite direction towards his house; He had a feeling that they were gonna all be at soobin's place but didnt wanna nag about it. He entered the house and looked around, nothing but silence filled the air. "Mom? are you here..?" He called out while putting down his bag. 'no response' He went to his bed and layed down, an empty feeling swelled his chest but he brushed it off and pulled his pillow under him.

"Its all fine, really.." He whispered to himself as he wiped a tear threatening to spill from his left eye. He dozed off after a bit curled up and snuggled into his hoodie sleeves. Around 11:46 at night he got a text from his mom and woke up. He rubbed his eyes then opened it.

The next morning his mom still wasnt back so he made his own breakfast. he prepared a bowl of ceral, feeling too upset to do anything else. He ended up just letting it get soggy tho because he zoned out. He tossed it in the trash and put the bowl in the sink then went to the bus stop. He sat on the bus with his headphones on listening to seasons by wave to earth and leaning his head against the window with his eyes closed, drowning out everything.

  He zoned out again and then he was in class with his head on the desk. "Choi Beomgyu!! Sit up." He groaned and kept his head down. The teacher went over to him and whispered. "Look, you seem to be having a bad morning, go freshen up alright?" She rubbed his back.

He hummed then got up and went to the restroom. "Ahh get it together beomgyu.." He whispered quietly to himself while splashing cold water onto his face. Then suddenly he looked back and saw a guy he had never seen before. He had his hair slightly ruffled, his sweater slightly showing off he collar bones while he walked over next to beomgyu to wash his hands. The brunette glanced over awkwardly and felt the need to say something. So he mustered up some courage and did so when stopping the sink.

"Hey." he mumbled looking over at him. "Hi." The boy waved then dried his hands. "You're cute by the way." He continued drying his hands with a towel. Beomgyu scoffed–taken aback. 'im cute?' he looked over his features in the mirror for a bit then chuckled. "Thanks" He smiled. "Your eyes are really nice, they resemble doe eyes a bit."

The boy smiled with a genuine happiness. "I really like deers, theyre so interesting and pretty." He said while tossing the paper-towel in the trash. "Really? I saw one yesterday.." Beomgyu said, deep into the conversation. "Ooh where did you see it? Maybe you could show me sometime." he clasped his hands smiling bright. "It was somewhere in the woods by my house, I'll show you someday!!" Beomgyu smiled softly, feeling comfortable to talk.

"I'll quote you on that–what was your name?" The taller boy asked. "Its Beomgyu, you?" He looked into his gentle brown eyes with admiration. "Yeonjun!! Im new here, nice to meet you Gyu~" He winked playfully then nudged Beomgyus shoulder and left
