Falling

You remember falling, or you think you do, but now you're not so sure maybe it's because you know you fell, but now all you can see is a very cute ginger looking at you with concern...

He gives you a forced smile. If Gren wasn't smiling, your situation must be bad...

You blink a few times, where were you?

He places the back of his hand on your forehead. "The fever is gone, good." He whispered mostly to himself.

You tried to sit up but just end up screaming through your clenched teeth.

Gren grabs you gently and lays you back down. "You need to rest." He whispers. "You took quite a fall."

You blink in confusion. "Gren, what happened?"

He sighs. "It's embarrassing really, we where on the roof and we where attacked, it was too dark for me too see and-"

Where his eyes always that bright? He looks so concerned. Have you always loved those freckles?

"And now where here..." he said.

You smiled at his dreamy eyes and sighed. "Well, thanks for... taking care of me."

He smiled at you. "Of course y/n, your my best friend what else could I do?"

You where furious you almost got lost in that smile. You didn't want to admit it, but you where in love with the young commander.

He cleared his throat. "Get some rest, I'll come back in a bit."

You smiled as he walked off and closed your eyes. You really did love him.

You opened your eyes to see Corvus sitting next to the bed you where in. He gave you a smile. You smiled back. He was three years younger than Gren, yet already a war veteran. Twenty and carried such a heavy burden, held so much wisdom

You smiled and sighed. "I need your opinion."

He leaned forward a bit. "Of corse."

You sighed. "But first, you need to know that it's new to me."

He raised an eyebrow. "Your not making much sense."

"Well I think I've fallen in love."

Corvus jumped to his feet. "I'll go get Gren."

"No, wait!" You plead.

"Why?"

"Sit, let me explain."

He sat down. "Ok, explain."

"Well one, Gren is the person I'm in love with. And two-"

"Wait Gren?!" He seemed confused and happy at the same time.

"As I was saying two, how do and should I tell him?"

"Yes you should tell him!!!" Corvus said excitedly. This childish behavior was out of character for him, but you kind of liked it.

"Tell who what?" Soren asked, walking into the room.

You smiled and shook your head. "Sorry Soren, you can't keep a secret."

He grumbled and walked off.

"Just be honest, that's what really matters." Corvus said as Gren walked in. "You've got this."

Corvus stood and left, leaving you and Gren alone.

You felt yourself turning red. You watched Gren sit. "How are you feeling?"

You shrugged, a mestake... you winced.

Gren placed his hand in yours. "I know it hurts, I'm sorry."

You gently squeezed his hand. "It's not your fault."

He sighed. "It should have been me..."

"Don't say that!" You gasp.

He sighs and goes to pull his hand away. You tighten your grip. "Gren? Have you ever been in love?" You ask.

He nods. "Yes actually, but I don't think she felt the same way..."

"Oh..."

"Why do you ask?" He whispers.

"I-" you notice Corvus poking his head in the doorway, giving you a thumbs up.

You smile. "I recently got the unexpected surprise of falling in love with someone, but I'm not sure how he'll react if I tell him."

"Y/n if you love him, you need to tell him!"

You smile and try to sit up, he helps you. "I just did." You whisper in his ear.

"What?" He asks. "But I'm the only one in the-" you watch as realization dawns in his face. "Oh, I-I..." he has no words just a shocked expression.

You feel your heart stop, your throat tightens. He just stairs at you.

You advert your gaze, it's all you can do to keep yourself from crying. This was a mistake, a horrible mistake.

Gren stands and begins to pace. "But I..."

You sigh, "just...forget it, forget I said anything." You mumble as the tears finally come.

Gren falls to his knees, you hear a sob come from him. "Why?" He asks. "Why would you love me? You could have anyone, why me?"

"Because, when I wake up, I want to see your face, that smile of yours, the one that causes me to melt. I want to see that every time I wake up." You pause. "I want to hear your optimism, your laugh, I want you to hold me when I don't have the strength to hold myself. I want you to be the one making me laugh when I know I'm about to cry. I want this because I love you."

Gren stood and made his way over to you, he pulled you into his arms and slowly took a deep breath, his nose touching your hair. You smiled.

"I love you too." Gren whispered.

You melt into him. "I love you..." you purr as you hear Corvus whoop.

You look over to see him walk in. "Well if it isn't my new favorite couple!" He says.

You chuckle. "Corvus, don't scare Gren away, I just got him..."

"Wait you two are a thing?!?" Soren asks, walking into the room with a slightly annoyed general Amaya hot on his heals.

"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" Soren and Corvus start chanting.

Ez and Callum walk into the room. "I didn't not know why where yelling kiss, but ok!" Ez says.

You smile. "You gonna-" you smile as his lips meet yours.

"Yahhhh!!!!" Soren screams, hugging Corvus. "They are just so cute!"

"Soren, shut up." Corvus said, whacking him gently.

You laugh as Gren kisses you again. He was perfect...
