It has to be me

It's been five years since Thanos snapped his fingers and wiped out half the universe. Five years since Katya lost her parents. It still feels like yesterday that she saw her father, James, and her mother, Yelena, getting dusted right in front of her eyes.

Katya lost it when her parents died. So much so that she drank alcohol to numb the pain away. So much so that Nat had to take care of her little nephew. For the first two years, she was drunk daily. No matter how hard Natasha and Steve tried to intervene all she kept doing was pushing them away. As much as Natasha would want to get the help her niece needed her hands were just too full. From raising Benjamin to helping the world somewhat back to normal and trying to find a way to bring everyone back.

One night Katya got so drunk that she almost died. If it wasn't for Natasha stopping by to wish her a happy birthday Katya would be dead and no one would know. Natasha was with her from the ambulance when she arrived at the hospital. After seeing her stomach being pumped and almost dying Natasha finally had enough. She was going to drag her ass into rehab. Natasha didn't care if Katya hated her for getting the help she needed. She knows that alcoholism is a serious disease and that Kat needs the right help to finally get herself clean.

For half a year, Katya went into rehab after her aunt told her what happened and how scared she was of her well-being. During the first visits, it was just Nat. They would talk about each other's lives and how they were doing. During one of their visits, Nat brought along Benjamin. Katya hated the fact she missed so much of her brother's life. She was also sad to learn that he still hasn't said a word. Doctors said that he was a healthy little boy and didn't understand why he hadn't talked yet.

But to her surprise the moment Ben saw his sister, he wiggled out of his aunt's arms and ran toward her (not very fast) and yelled Сисси. (sissy). Both women were shocked and over the moon when they finally heard him speak for the first time. After their visit, Kat made a promise to herself, to Natasha, and especially to Ben that she would never have a single drop of alcohol ever again.

As the years went on, as promised she never had a single drop. Sure she had her ups and downs but Nat was always there when she needed to talk or to just take her to an AA meeting. As a thank you for saving my life gift, Kat saved up her money and got Nat a new motorcycle and a black Kitten. Don't worry she also got Ben a toy motorbike and a stuffed wolf with a leather jacket with fake widow bites on it.

A man named Scott Lang aka Ant-man appears out of nowhere and says he might know a way to bring everyone back.

Natasha stayed at home base while taking care of Benj. He didn't want her to leave him fearing he may never see her again.

Before they leave Kat made sure to say her goodbyes to the two most important people in her life.

Nat smiled excitedly at her niece, proud of the woman she had become. Her mother and father would be proud of how much she's grown as a person. "See you in a minute." She said as she hugged Kat. With one last goodbye kiss, Katya gets on the platform with Clint. They all shrink and enter the Quantum Realm, and they all split at different intervals, going to different places at different times in history.
