Mission Time/Day 1 13:00
"Approaching end of warp jump Captain! T-minus 60 seconds." The helmsman declared as the Freedom Star was reaching the end of it's first jump of it's mission.
"Collision alarms up, standby for drop."
"All hands, prepare to drop out of warp in t-minus 40 seconds!" The helmsman declared over the intercom, giving warning to all sailors and marines onboard.
"Approaching drop point. Influx in 3...2...1."
The ship shook as the warp field discharged and unleashed a blast of energy around it, no longer being sustained and able to hold together. The super carrier had completely decelerated and was floating in the middle of normal space, finding itself within the proximity of a small broken planet in orbit of a blue giant.
"DSS 11 bears 000 Captain. We have visual." The deep space station was dead ahead of the Freedom Star, orbiting around the planet from which it had been mining resources from to fuel it's refineries. The station had two large docking ports to dock with large vessels such as large cargo haulers and carriers, along with several smaller docking bays for smaller ships. It carried it's own aerospace wing of 32 fighters and 8 bombers for self defense, and was surrounded by numerous SDPs.
Hanging around the station was an armada of capital ships. 2x carriers, 4x battleships, 4x cruisers, 8x destroyers, 3x frigates, and 4x auxiliary ships. The Freedom Star's escort fleet.
"USS Freedom Star this is DSS 11, we have you on scopes. You have automatic clearance to dock in LP1. Transfer of supplies and personnel can begin once docking is complete."
"Freedom Star acknowledges. Moving to dock with station now."
"Freedom Star this is science frigate USCS Harvard, requesting permission to dock and board."
"Harvard permission granted. Welcome to the Freedom Star."
While the super carrier was making it's way towards the station, it's frigate bay doors opened across it's dorsal hull as a frigate sized ship, designed for scientific purposes, approached. The smaller ship positioned itself above the moving super carrier and descended into the bay. On board was the science team assigned to the ship with the purpose of studying the anomaly.
The super carrier was in position with the station as several magnetic arms reached out and grabbed ahold of the ship, holding it in place as an umbilical gangway extended outwards.
"Docking successful. Standby for transit of materials and personnel."
Once the all clear was given, men and women from the station began rushing towards the ship carrying payloads of vital materials, supplies, and ammunition the Freedom Star may require on it's mission. On the receiving end we're crewmen who accepted the supplies and relocated them into the ship's storehouses. The entire transit would take an entire 2 hours in which the ship was a sitting duck and vulnerable to attack, which was why the station and nearby ships were keeping vigilant for any Chinese attack.
"DSS 11 this is Freedom Star Actual," Captain Alder called the station. "Has there been any update regarding the Chinese attacks in the last 13 hours?"
"Freedom Star Actual, that's an affirmative. Civilian and public channels were restored just an hour ago, and it's flooding with news of what's going on. The situation's not good right now, but expect that to change."
Wanting to know what's going on, Alder switched to civilian broadcasts and began listening in through the bridge speakers.
"—evacuation orders out of major settlements as the Army responds against the attackers. AATIS gun platforms are working over time as they attack descending enemy spacecraft—"
