Julia
This is a one big mistake.
I was getting ready for a date with Trevor. I had texted him yesterday and we agreed to meet at a local coffee shop today at 5 pm. Now it was 4 pm and I had just got done with my homework.
I decided to facetime Indy to help me to figure out an outfit for the date. I had a few options in mind but I wasn't too sure.
"I think the the blue cardigan with the white skirt and legwarmers is cute", Indy said, "And you can just wear a headband and curl your hair".
"Indy you're a genius", I said as I went over to my desk to get my curling iron. "Are you planning to put on any makeup", Indy asked.
"Just a little bit of mascara and some lipgloss I think", I replied while trying not to burn my hands with the curling iron.
"Sounds good".
If I'm being honest I wasn't too excited about the date. I didn't know too much about Trevor but almost everyone in our school knew him as the player and a cheater.
Indy must have noticed me doubting as she said; "Come on Julia, it's gonna go just fine. The autumn break starts next week anyway so you wont have to see him in two weeks after that".
She was right. The autumn break would give me enough time to reset even if the date would go wrong.
"I'm going to be late if I don't go now", I said to Indy before we said bye and hung up. I was a little nervous but not as much as I would be if the one that I was going with would be anyone else than Trevor.
I made my way outside and started to walk towards the coffee shop. We had agreed to meet at the front and go inside together. If anything could make this worse it was the fact that it was raining a little bit and I didn't bring an umbrella with me.
After ten minutes I finally made it to the shop. I took my phone out to check the time. 4.50. Thankfully I would have enough time to fix up my mascara that had spread a little because of the rain.
It was now 5 pm but I didn't see Trevor anywhere. Is he really going to come late for the first date? I thought to myself.
I had stood in front of the coffee shop for at least twenty five minutes before he arrived. He was wearing a black hoodie and some grey sweatpants. With a hole on the left knee.
"Sorry it took me a while since it's raining", he apologized as he approached me. "Oh it's fine", I replied.
"So why don't we step inside?", he suggested and I just nodded back as a reply.
This is going to be a big mistake.
He walked in first and went straight to order. He looked at the menu for a moment. "We'll take one big caramel latte and one small water for her", he ordered while pointing at me.
A small water? Really?
I looked at him in confusion but decided that I wasn't going to say anything just to see what he would be like. Did he really treat all the girls he had dated this way?
He led me to sit at a table near a window that looked over to the sidewalk. As we sat there I did a little scan over the shop as we weren't the only ones there. I noticed two girls sitting near the exit door and then someone very familiar looking at the far back of the dinning area.
Vic.
She was sitting alone drawing something to her sketchbook. She was wearing a black turtleneck that hugged her body almost too perfectly. She had her sleeves rolled up a little showing her tattoos on her arm.
Of all the people that I know why does it have to be her sitting here when I'm on a date?
Soon the waitress came with the order and as she was giving the water to me she looked me straight into my eyes with this weird look. Almost like she was warning me but I have no idea why.
"So", Trevor started "I heard that you have never really been in a relationship before".
Why The fuck would Indy tell him that?
"Yea I've never just met anyone that I find worthy enough for me to date".
That was a lie.
"Oh yeah? tell me about it babygirl". I cringed at the nickname. Babygirl? Seriously?
"I just want someone that respects me, cares for me but Isn't insecure and is willing to work for things without expecting me to do everything".
"Well I think that it's the females job and responsibility to take care of the house and kids and you should be thankful of the fact that I offered to take you here", Trevor stated, "And I'm looking for a new girl since my ex didn't agree on that".
So he's one of those types of guys?
"Yea I can see why she's an ex now". I could see Vic's lips turn into a wide smirk after my reply from the other side of the shop.
My comment must have hit a sensitive spot since Trevor started to defend his point by saying anything he could come up with but I didn't bother to even start arguing with him. After a while he apparently had enough and called me a whore before storming out of the coffee shop.
The waitress that had served us our order came over to me to ask if I was alright and I assured her that I was. She offered me a coffee on the house and I accepted. Thankfully the two girls had left before Trevor so the only one to see the situation was Vic.
After the waitress came with my drink I heard Vic get up from her table and walk over to mine. "Do you have someone else coming in as well or can I join you?", she asked while looking me into my eyes.
"No, you're good", I stuttered out. She sat down to where Trevor had sat just a few moments ago. I couldn't help but make a mental note of her in the black turtleneck.
"You and Trevor huh?"
I was stunned by the question. "Indy set us up for a date and forced me to go, it wasn't my fault", I defended myself trying to hide how embarrassed I was.
"Wait how do you know his name?", I asked out of curiosity, "Has he also played you?"
Vic laughed at my question.
"No believe it or not i have never had anything to do with him, but my old friend did. Plus he takes random girls here all the time so every employee probably knows him by his name at this point".
"Oh that makes sense".
