Vibrant chirping vibrated through the woods as light streamed through the tree branches looming over him. It was a sunny day, a pleasant temperature, and honestly he would've enjoyed the scenery if not for the fact that he was fucking lost. For about three hours if he had to guess.
He took a step, grass brushing against his shoes, then looked around to find anything that looked familiar. Nothing did.
He huffed in slight annoyance, continuing to walk upwards.
Recently he hasn't been coming here often, mostly because this forest was huge which means it was really hard to navigate in and also was a great place for dangerous wildlife. Plus the main reason he used to do this type of scavenging was because he used to not get enough money for food. But now that isn't the case and well he'd rather buy from the market since it was easier and much less dangerous. In both not getting mauled and poisoned to death.
So why was he here in the first place?
Well he kind of promised Puffy that he'll go out to get some raspberries for the bakery since there was a shortage at the shops and last he remembered there was this really big bush of wild ones located here, so here he was. Kind of regretting his decision now.
That's when he heard the sound of rushing water in front of him, and an idea clocked into his head.
He hiked his way up before his way down the slope, ever so often stumbling slightly from the loose rocks. The sound of rushing water started to get louder, which meant he was getting closer. And then all he'll have to do is follow this stream of water and he'll find his way out of this damn forest.
He placed his foot on the stone in front of him, instantly feeling it move and the ground slipping under him.
Shit. Was the only thought he could think of before he started his rocky dissent.

Purpled wasn't expecting for this forest to be so big, if he did he probably would've just kept walking on the side of that dirt road. But the vampire markings were too tempting and he thought at that moment that he surely could cut down on his travel time by taking a shortcut through the woods. Maybe handle the vampire along the way as well.
A mistake on his part that he will not repeat again.
Either way he was now walking alongside a creek, recently just refilled his water supply, and was now trying to navigate his way out. Food wasn't much of a concern at the moment since he had just eaten this morning.
His only worry was the vampire markings. He trailed them for a while, only to find a dead end close to this creek. And that made him more on edge. A vampire can't simply just erase their scent, and the slight claw marks and footprints stopped completely which only meant they were conscious of their trail and maybe even him.
So this either was a trap made for hunters and he'd fallen for it or something else was happening that he couldn't quite grasp.
Either way he decided to keep up his guard and his hatchet in hand. Which he thanked himself for when he heard the sound of something harshly rolling down.
A few seconds later he saw someone tumbling towards him, their blonde hair being the first thing he noticed, before he realized they were coming right at him. He jumped to the side, narrowly missing.
Their momentum seemed to stop a second later as they crashed onto their back with a small 'oof'. He blinked, slightly surprised at the entrance, before training kicked in and he pressed the hatchet at their throat.

"Don't move," Was the first thing he registered, before this coldness against his throat appeared. Instinctually he wanted to get up, but the moment he titled his head up the cold pressure on his throat increased pulling him back down.
