After some time, Vaani emerged from the fitting room, handed the clothes to the staff, and said, "Yeh pack kar dijiye, yeh lijiye paise." The salesgirl nodded and left.
Shivank looked at Vaani with a forlorn expression, but she turned her face away. Unable to bear the silence, he stepped closer and enveloped her in a tight hug. "I'm sorry, Mamma. Mujhe tere saath aise baat nahi karni chahiye thi. I just thought..that maybe we are getting back closer like we were in school days, I seriously didn't mean to hurt you. I am sorry."
Vaani sighed, reluctant at first, but soon gave in and hugged him back. No matter how upset she was, she couldn't resist his warmth—it was her safe haven. Shivank tightened his hold, almost as if afraid she'd slip away. "Main aage se kabhi aisa nahi karunga, promise."
Breaking the hug, Vaani softly said, "Shivank, tum galat samajh rahe ho. Baat yeh nahi hai. I do want our closeness but.."
He cupped her face gently, searching her eyes. "Toh phir kya hua? Bol na. Bas aise ignore mat kar. Main tera ignorance nahi seh sakta."
A faint smile crept onto her lips as she realized how much he needed her. Resting her hand on his, she teased, "Aww, Shivu baby ko bura laga?"
"Haan! Bohot bura laga. Jaldi se manao fir," he demanded, puffing his cheeks dramatically and tilting his face, signaling her to kiss him.
Vaani leaned in but suddenly paused, narrowing her eyes. "Ek minute. Naraz toh main thi. Fir tujhe kyun manau?"
Shivank grinned mischievously and planted quick, loud kisses on both her cheeks, making her blush. "Tumhe bilkul sharam nahi aati, na?" she scolded half-heartedly.
