-----Present: Lunch-----Oakley finally made it out of class after taking a while to pack his bag back up. While he was finding his things around the drama room, he bumped into someone who was still in the room since he was in a rush to get back to the cafeteria. Oakley ended up dropping his water bottle he had hold of. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." Oakley apologised as he bent down to pick up the bottle, avoiding eye contact with the boy. When he did bend down though, he ended up falling back a little bit since his bag was a bit too heavy.
Oakley felt so embarrassed. He finally looked up at the figure when he saw the hand in front of him and a laugh coming from him. Instantly, Oakley's stomach began to fill with butterflies when he saw the boy's face. He knew he was blushing and tried his hardest to hide it. He took the hand and the boy helped him up, making sure he was okay.
"You alright?" The random person asked Oakley, smiling at him a little bit. Oakley couldn't find the words to respond. He was too mesmerised by the boy's dark brown curls and his big, soulful eyes to even pay attention to what he was saying. He just stared at him and nodded slowly.
Oakley heard the boy laugh again before lowering his gaze. He thought he had already embarrassed himself enough. "I'm sorry for bothering you." Oakley apologised again quietly before quickly pushing past him and leaving the drama room.
----------
Oakley finally entered the cafeteria and approached the table he and his friends always sat on. His face was still red and he looked pretty dishevelled when he sat down next to Adela. He could feel the eyes from everyone on the table looking at him. It didn't take long for Adela to say something to him. "Did you run into a wall or something in Drama?"
Aria chirped in after Adela said something. "Yeah, you took a long time. Are you okay? You warm or anything? You look super red."
"No, I didn't run into a wall. I'm fine. I just ran into someone that's all." Oakley told them, taking out his phone and scrolling through Instagram, trying to kill the conversation. He was still a bit embarrassed. He couldn't take the boy off of his mind however. It was evident that he had a crush on him.
"What happened? Who do I need to kill?" Adela asked, assuming that the worst happened and Oakley got into an argument or something.
"No no, it was nothing like that. I just bumped into some guy and I fell over when I was picking my water bottle up and he helped me up. I'm just a little embarrassed that's all." Oakley told the group sheepishly before looking back at his phone.
"Are you sure you're just embarrassed or do you like him~" Sadie taunted Oakley. He couldn't deny what she was saying. It was obvious his face was going even more red. "Wait he does! Guys he likes-"
Aria interrupted Sadie and put her hand on her mouth so she'd stop shouting. "Sadie shut up!" She shouted at her. With the hand over her mouth, Sadie was unable to say anymore.
Meanwhile, Adela was looking at Oakley to see if that was true. She tapped his shoulder to grab his attention. "I'm not gonna taunt you about it Oak. You know me. Do you actually?" She asked him.
Oakley looked at Adela when she was speaking nodded a little bit before looking back down at his phone. "I don't know his name but he's in my drama class. I have always had a little crush on him but that was the first time I had spoken to him. I made a show of myself in front of him." Oakley told Adela quietly while Aria and Sadie were jokingly arguing. He put his head in his hands.
Adela put an arm around him. "Hey I'm sure you didn't. Maybe if you can, speak to him next time you have drama class and just apologise for bumping into him."
Oakley nodded, understanding what Adela said. He suddenly felt his phone buzz in his lap. It was a phone call, but from a private number. He looked at Adela with a confused look on his face before answering the phone. "Hello?" Oakley said quietly before listening to the person on the other end of the phone. His heart stopped when he finally heard the reason why he was getting the phone call. He looked over at Adela with a distraught and worried look on his face before standing and picking his bag up. "Yeah, I'm on my way."
Adela looked at Oakley, confused about who was on the phone to Oakley and why it looked like his whole world just shattered. Aria and Sadie looked over as well when they heard Oakley speaking to someone on the phone. "What's going on Oak? Who was that?" Adela asked him.
"It was the hospital." Oakley responded quietly. "My dad was in a car accident."
