4: I THINK I NEED A NEW FAMILY

I was currently sitting on a couch in Maddie's house watching The House Bunny while she was getting me more popcorn. She said she hated the movie, but from time to time, I would see her reacting some of the scenes laughing.

" Honey, I'm home." Miss Hyde walked in, taking her shoes off, and was about to head upstairs until she saw me. " Vida not to sound rude or anything, but what are you doing in my house?"

" Well... I needed a place to crash since my Nana is coming. " She shook her head, laughing.  She was one of the few people in this town who knows my Nana. A notification appeared on her phone, causing her smile to dissappear and be replaced with fear.

Oh, on. " Sorry, Vida, your grandmother just threatened that if I don't bring you home in 5 minutes, they'll be he'll to pay." Nooo, I really regret giving my Miss Hyde's phone number to my grandmother. I always make bad decisions while eating the food she cooks.

I got up knowing I couldn't talk my way into staying. " Bye, Vee, I hope your hot brothers are here." I gave Maddie a dirty look. Wasn't she worried about my well-being? I mean, come on.

The drive was filled with silence until we reached my house, I waved goodbye to Miss Hyde and saw that there were 2 black SUVs in the driveway. Nana was here.

I rushed inside the house with the smell of money and overly expensive perfume to lead me to my favorite person right now. " NANA," I attacked her with a hug, my smile reaching my eyes.

But she dodged and looked at me, expectedly. " Sorry." I looked down, mastering the best puppy dog eyes I could make. The fact that I tried to escape the coming, arguing she wasn't even angry, she smiled and squeezed my tight in a hug.

" I have missed you, my little Vida." she started kissing my face, and all I could do was smile." That enough Loretta, she went to her friends house, not across the country." My grandmother could hold the dirty look, and neither could Nana.

" I only see her once in a while. Gloria, so excuse you if I feel overly affectionate because you basically see her every day. And you clearly can't even take care of her." Oh, on my grandmother, it fuming. I could almost see the smoke coming out of her ears.

" Oh me, I'm the one that can't take care of her Loretta, please you wouldn't be able to take care of Vida as well as I can." The kept arguing more and more of who can take care of me better. Honestly, it wasn't an unusual sight.

" Yippee," Xander screamed, sliding down the stairs with a mattress and the sheet tied around his neck like a cape. " I'm batman, baby." He landed hard on the floor with his face and quickly got up like nothing happened.

" VIDA" eloped into a hug. I smiled and laughed a lot. " Are you okay? " Not even a bit worried because I was too busy laughing, he just shrugged, waving his hand like he did this on a daily basis.

" Okay? I'm more okay now that my favorite sister is here."

" She your only sister, you dumbpass." That was Quinn head towards me, smiling and also eloped me in the most comfortable hug. Gosh, I missed him so much.

" Where's Darius? " I looked around, and he wasn't anywhere." He is currently wrapped up in tape and trapped thanks to that idiot over there." Quinn pointed over to Xander, who gave me a lopsided grin.

I gave him a stern look, and he lowered his head in shame. " I'll get him out." he went into the kitchen and came out with a butcher knife and went upstairs.

I heard a loud scream and a body drop on the floor. " I'm going to kill you, Xander." Darius screamed a battle cry carrying the knife with him aiming it at now Xanders back screaming down the stairs.

He eruptedly stopped and gave me an innocent smile while hiding the knife behind his back. " Vida," his voice sounded innocent like he wouldn't hurt a fly. Bullshit.

" Hand over the knife, Dee." He was about to argue, but I gave him a stern look and be handed it over. Gosh, I think I really need a new family.

" You guys have been here for 30 minutes, and y'all are already trying to kill each other." I tsk-tsked at their behavior.

Quinn decided to ignore Xander and Darius's behavior and was now next to Grandpa talking about which college his was in now. " It's normal, I can't wait for school tomorrow. " Wait, what, weren't they just visiting for the weekend.

" School? Whose school? My school? The one I go to every day. That school? Tell me you're joking." He just shrugged his shoulders and walked past our arguing grandmother's and onto the couch.

No, no, no," No offense, guys, but I don't want you two attending to my school. It's chaotic enough at home. I don't need that at school. Grandpa, please talk some sense into this." I tried the puppy dog eyes but failed completely when I saw him shake his head.

" Sorry, Vida, but it's already decided, and it would be good for you guys to help on another since you're the same age." I knew what he meant. If another vision came by, I should just call Xander or Darius to help me. Gosh, if I knew that taking my Grandpa on that mission would lead to this, I would've gone alone.

" This is going to be fun." Xander clapped his hands excitedly.  Gosh, now I have to worry about Ace's death and my brothers. Could things get any better. Suddenly, an image appeared he was wearing a long black cloak, holding a scythe. Wait, he looks familiar. I placed my fingers on my chin, trying to guess who he his.

Scythe, cloak black cloak to be specific, black gloves. My hand went to my skull shaped necklace. Its ruby eyes seem to be glowing. " Really, you don't know who I am." His deep voice rumble, making my heart beat fast.

" The Grim Reaper? Oh my gosh, can i call you Grimmy."
