Grace let her feet guide her along vaguely familiar pathways and routes, allowing the recognisable scenery to bring back old memories. She became lost in her thoughts as she wandered, only being snapped back into the present as a gust of wind whipped around her. She jumped as she realised just how far she had walked; finding herself stood in the thick forest that was the Beacon Hills Preserve. After weighing up whether she should go back home or carry on, she decided she would pay her sister a visit at her dance and visit the school she had dreamt of going to ever since kindergarten. Grace chuckled as she remembered how eager she was to go to high school and how ironic it was; seeing as she hadn't been to a proper high school in years. She walked in a general direction until she could begin to see the school from far away, the distant edge of the Lacrosse field just recognisable in the dark. Unlit it appeared eery, as the floodlights loomed over the field threateningly. As she made her way through the thicket she froze as she noticed a figure beginning to appear from the dark forest in front of her. Her teachings from Jeff immediately kicked into action as she melted into the shadows and lowered her breathing, wearily observing the stranger. She could tell it was a man from his stance, and he had to be a few years older than her at least. She began to try and circle round him to get a better look at him and to decide for herself if he was friend or foe. Before she could even catch a glance of his profile his head whipped around to stare at Grace, the intensity in his eyes as they locked with hers making her unwillingly gasp out loud. He slowly brought his arm up to bring a finger to his lips, comically "shush"ing her. Grace was so stunned she simply stood there staring at the man and was only broken out of her spell when he suddenly disappeared. She knew something was wrong and without thinking followed her gut instinct and headed towards the school.
Before she could reach the edge of the forest where thick trees met the neatly trimmed grass of the Lacrosse field, blinding lights stunned her as she stumbled backwards slightly, covering her eyes from the harsh, sudden beams.
"Jackson...is that you?"
No matter how long they had spent apart, Grace recognised the familiarity of her twins voice immediately. Fear started to seep into her veins as she registered the tremble in Lydia's tone, and started to move quickly towards the field where she could now see the silhouette of her sister. What terrified her most, was the sight of the shadow stalking her, almost like a predator from behind. She broke into a full sprint, branches creating cuts and scratches on her skin as she flew through the forest, breaking on to the field in time to hear a distraught voice scream at her sister to run. Her whole body was screaming as she pushed it harder than she ever had, but it wasn't enough as she was helpless in watching the man tackle her sister to the ground and rip at her throat, his hands tearing at her arms and sides. A violent scream wrenched itself from her throat as she continued to run, preparing herself to kick the living shit into her sisters attacker. Before she could even lay one punch into him, he suddenly swooped round, claws protruding from his hands as he grabbed her harshly around her neck, slinging her down onto the ground next to her sister like a rag doll. All the breath was knocked out of Grace as her vision blurred from the sudden impact, and for a moment was forced to lie still as she attempted to regain her senses.
The man kept one hand wrapped firmly around her neck, applying just enough pressure to leave Grace gasping for air, but not enough to cause her to pass out. The other hand lay on the ground next to her head, grasping a handful of grass as he leaned over her and her sisters bodies defensively, an animalistic growl resonating deep from within his throat as a body came skidding to the ground next to them. Grace leaned her head back in an attempt to get away from the man atop of her and to see who her attempted rescuer was, but she didn't need to once she heard Stiles stutter,
"P-please, don't kill them."
The man pretended to look conflicted about it, flexing his clawed hands before he replied, "Of course not... Just tell me how to find Derek."
"W-what?" Stiles' breath was jagged as his eyes kept flitting between Lydia's lifeless body, Grace's tense and trembling body and Peter, who's grip on Grace's neck did not falter. Slowly, almost seductively, Peter brought his other hand up from the ground and started to trace Grace's jaw, his claw leaving an angry red line as it traced the curve of her face down to her throat. Grace snarled as she tried to jerk her face away from him, but his grip was inhumanly firm and kept her pinned under him as he repeated his question, his eyes never leaving Grace's as he smiled at her attempt to break free. Stiles' breathing became erratic as he yelled,
"I don't know that, how the hell would I know that?!"
"Because you're the smart one," Peter replied as his gaze slowly left Grace to look at Stiles, "and because deception has a particularly acrid scent Stiles. Now tell me the truth," he slowly brought his face down to rest just above Grace's, and she tried to turn her face as she smelled her sister's blood on the man's lips, "or I will tear them both apart, starting with Grace."
Grace froze as he said her name, her head whipping round to meet his smiling gaze.
"Who the hell are you and how do you know my name?" She spat, her anger growing by the second. Peter simply shook his head condescendingly at her and winked before slowly turning to Stiles again.
"Look I don't know ok? I sw- I swear to god I have no idea!"
Suddenly, Peter's face darkened as he bellowed, "TELL ME!" His voice morphing into a darker, almost monstrous tone. Grace gasped as her body shook from the sheer force of his voice, and she felt Stiles shrink away from him before giving in.
"I think he knew! Derek, I think he knew he was going to get caught."
"By the Argents?" Peter's voice was suddenly back to normal, leaving Grace terrified underneath him as she was left confused and terrified for both herself, her sister and Stiles. Stiles nodded.
"And?" Peter's grip on Grace's throat intensified and she gasped for air.
"When they were shot, he and Scott, I think he took Scott's phone. They all have GPS now, so if he still has it and it's still on... You can find him." Stiles slowed his torrent of words, his eyes never leaving the hand wrapped around Grace's throat. Satisfied with his answer, Peter's grip loosened ever so slightly, not enough for Grace to make an escape, but enough so that she could take a gasp of well needed air to her lungs. Before she could take another breath, his hand wrapped round her throat once more and dragged her up off the ground, Grace letting out a strangled gasp as she was pulled against Peter and turned to face Stiles and her sister.
"Move," Peter instructed Stiles, "we have work to do, and I think I'm going to bring little Gracie along for the ride," he said, bringing his face close to hers and running his nose along the side of her neck, "even if she misbehaves... I could always have another snack." Grace shuddered in disgust as his free hand twisted her arms behind her back in a way that both of them knew she was incapable of breaking free of, despite her training with Jeff. Stiles remained on the ground next to her sister's still lifeless body.
"No! I'm not just letting you leave her here."
"You don't have a choice Stiles," he said tauntingly as he dug his claws into Grace's arms, feeling blood slowly pool around his nails, "you're coming with us." Grace watched Stiles as he panicked on the ground.
"Just kill me! Look I don't care anymore!" Grace struggled as Stiles yelled, attempting to say anything to stop him but she couldn't, all she could manage was a strained whimper. Peter stalked towards Stiles, Grace still trapped in his arms as Stiles scrambled to his feet, his eyes still flitting from Peter and Grace to Lydia. Peter glared at him over Grace's shoulder for a moment.
"Call your friend. Tell Jackson where she is. That's all you get." Stiles hesitated before reaching into his pocket to grab his phone. Peter began to walk away with a struggling Grace; she began to kick at him as he dragged her away from her sister.
"She doesn't know anything! J-just leave her please!" Stiles pleaded from behind them and Grace felt hot tears begin to fill her eyes as Peter began to drag her back towards the forest they had both come from.
"She'll figure it out... Soon enough."
