(POV third person my best friend from work wrote this for me so)

The skateboard park was a canvas of motion, vibrant with the energetic souls of skaters weaving intricate patterns across ramps and rails. Y/N stood on the sidelines, admiring the skill and grace of those who glided through the air with apparent ease. As the sun dipped lower, casting a warm glow over the park, Y/N felt a sense of contentment settling in her chest.

Unbeknownst to her, Michael Afton, the quiet guy she had exchanged glances with a few times before, was perched on the edge of the half-pipe, watching her with a mixture of fascination and admiration. There was something about the way she observed the world around her that drew him in—a quiet intensity that mirrored his own.

Gathering his courage, Michael decided to make his move. He pushed off from the edge of the half-pipe, coasting smoothly across the park until he was by Y/N's side.

"Hey," he greeted, a shy smile playing at the corners of his lips.

Y/N turned to him, her own smile lighting up her face. "Hey! You're quite the skater, huh?"

Michael chuckled softly, a hint of self-deprecation in his tone. "I try my best."

Y/N's eyes twinkled with mischief. "Well, how about showing off your skills? Impress me."

Michael's heart raced at the challenge, and he glanced around, searching for a suitable spot. He spotted a set of stairs with a railing leading down to a flat stretch of pavement.

"Alright then, watch this," he said, his voice determined as he made his way to the stairs.

Y/N watched with rapt attention as Michael expertly navigated the stairs, his skateboard dancing beneath his feet. His movements were fluid and controlled, a testament to his experience. When he finally reached the bottom, he flashed a triumphant grin in her direction.

Impressed, Y/N clapped her hands together. "Wow, that was amazing!"

Michael's cheeks turned slightly pink from her praise. "Thanks."

The two fell into an easy conversation, talking about everything from skating to their favorite music. As the sky transformed into a canvas of pinks and oranges, Y/N found herself feeling more and more comfortable around Michael. His quiet demeanor was soothing, and his genuine interest in her thoughts and stories was incredibly endearing.

As darkness began to settle over the park, the overhead lights flickered to life, casting a warm glow over the ramps and rails. Michael hesitated for a moment, his fingers tapping nervously against his skateboard.

"Y/N," he began, his voice soft yet earnest, "there's something I've been wanting to do."

Y/N's curiosity was piqued, her heart beginning to race. "What is it?"

With a mixture of hesitation and determination, Michael stepped closer, his gaze locking onto hers. And then, as if the world around them had faded away, he leaned in and pressed his lips against hers in a gentle, sweet kiss. Time seemed to stand still as they shared that intimate moment, the park and its skaters melting into the background.

When they finally pulled back, their eyes met, a mixture of surprise and tenderness in their gazes. Y/N's lips curved into a soft smile, her heart fluttering like a trapped butterfly.

"I've been wanting to do that for a while," Michael confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.

Y/N's smile widened, her fingers brushing against his in a comforting gesture. "I'm glad you did."

As the night deepened, they continued to talk, their hands occasionally finding each other's as if drawn by an invisible force. And as they watched the stars begin to twinkle in the sky, they both realized that sometimes the most unexpected moments could lead to the most beautiful connections—just like that serendipitous kiss at the skateboard park.
