-Present time-
We were sitting on the wooden floor inside the circus tent with a stapler in our hands.
"How far do you think it will fly if I shoot it?"
Levy looked up from the molleton fabric that he was wrapping around the wooden frame.
"I've tried it before. It's like 5 metres or something. Look."
He took the stapler and pointed it in a direction noone was standing. I stared expectantly in the air.
"I didn't even see it it's too small."
I got up to look for it but I couldn't find it.
We got back to stapling the fabric to the woodframe when I asked him:"Do you wanna hear my latest work drama?"
"Always, spill the beans."
"So... remember how I found this circus group through Milo, this guy I used to date?"
"Yeah, I think you mentioned that before."
"Two months ago when we tried dating one more time he matched a coworker of mine on bumble."
I couldn't quite read the look on Levy's face so I decided to clarify:
"We were in an open, poly or whatever relationship so that wasn't an issue, but we went apart because it was too emotionally intense for him and he couldn't do this romantic dating stuff right now."
Levy was a good listener. He just looked at me waiting to know where I was getting at.
"A couple days ago I was working, right? And I overheard some colleagues saying Magdalena came by with a blonde guy."
Levy's face dropped.
"No way."
"First I tried to convince myself... You know there's so many blonde guys out there especially if she's on dating websites. But then my coworker Claire came to my house because I gave her a haircut. And I totally forgot but she lives with Magdalena. And then she mentioned a Milo and then my heart dropped, you know?"
"Oh no..."
Levy looked at me with the deepest sympathy and opened his arms to offer me a hug. I scooted over the dirty floor and rested my head on his shoulder for a moment. I let go and continued working as well as speaking.
"I double checked with her and appearantly Milo really has been there to visit Magdalena at least once or twice."
"That is such a dick move. Didn't he move away though?"
"HE DID!!! And I was doing so well! I unfollowed him and I was finally not thinking about him everyday. It was good to know he was out of my life and out of town. But now he managed to sneak his way back into my mind again."
I paused for a moment to think.
"It just makes me so angry and frustrated because Milo said he wouldn't date right now because it was all too much and his new place was too far to maintain dating anyways. But appearantly that was a lie because visiting Magdalena doesn't seem to be a problem."
"Oh, Charlie... But at least now you know what an asshole he is and you get to be angry instead of sad. Because losing him is not a loss at all."
"I guess... but it varies. As you know I love being delusional and my feelings toward him change a lot. I just wish it would stop being on my mind. Ugh, I just feel like this is a bad joke or something."
Levy looked at me with a sympathetic frown.
"What do you think you'd say if he showed up while you were working?"
