Untamable

Sonic's new beginning

Shadow showed every room to the hedgehog everything but the Great cabin which was where the captain slept the kitchen was the biggest area aside from the deck Sonic was happily keeping track on everything the captain told him there were different knocks to use in order to communicate with the members on board when it came to emergencies or if someone needed assistance everything on the ship had a balance everyone had a place and a job everyone but the blue hedgehog for now. Sonic was only fifteen he looked younger though Shadow was roughly the same age being captain at a young age was difficult but the dark furred hedgehog did seem to know what he was doing Black Doom had trained him quite well during his time on the Ark. 

" So now that i've shown you everything below deck I think you're about ready to join the crew." Shadow spoke softly  the blue hedgehog was starting to feel calm being there no harm came to him he was free to look around he was even given some food when they entered the kitchen he and the captain sat at the table it was huge even the bench it was made to fit the entire crew. Sonic was given two sea dogs and a biscuit with apple cider to drink.  

Sonic took a bite of the sea dog and instantly fell in love something about it made his ears perk giving a slight twitch before he ate the whole thing " Whoa what was that?" He asked 

" I call it a Sea dog it's like a chilidog but with relish, chili, red onions, jalapeños, and a secret ingredient a little bit of  cheddar cheese. " The cook spoke he was delighted though seeing how Sonic seemed to of enjoyed the meal " I only cook them on Tuesdays and Saturdays" he added Sonic smiled eating the other sea dog happily his small blue tail wagged from side to side it didn't take him long to finish the meal the captain couldn't help but feel grateful he had found the other, it was as though he belonged on the ship. 

" I think it's time to go back to the study room before you meet the crew you should probably know the history of the ship and it's crew.  I think you're story should also be added to the book."  The captain stood up before looking at the cook " thank you for feeding him." The other gave a nod none of the crew were hedgehogs mostly creatures they looked like monsters giant, muscular, more of a dark grey color with red markings they towered over Shadow they looked like they could easily beat him in a fight they had large yellow eyes some had spikes on their backs like Godzilla some had little scales but they all had huge claws and long tails.

Sonic stood up " Thank you sir for the meal." He said sincerely showing gratitude in his voice  before  following behind  the captain back to the study room once there Shadow looked for something on the shelves while Sonic looked around curiously seeing so many books and other things in the room it didn't take long for the captain to find what he was looking for.  Bringing the book to the table. 

" Now then I shall explain, so this ship is over 2,000 years old it's been passed down through many generations yet it's still floating to this day, each captain passed it down to their son I was the only hedgehog hybrid that had been given the honor of captain my father Black Doom spent his life training me to be a great leader like he was so everything I know I learned from him. The creatures here are called Black arms we look scary but I guarantee that no one will harm you here as long as you obey my rules and orders." Shadow paused  before continuing.

"The black arms are different than mobians they actually came from space a long long time ago, the first of their kind became voyagers after sometime on not being able to find land to settle having no place only a small boat and limited supplies of course that boat became well what it is today pretty much casted out but none of us have a problem with that we are able to trade with villages whatever treasures we find we give to others in return for food and supplies we got lucky this month but with pirates giving us a bad name we haven't really found many villages to trade with and there was one bar fight this month and now the village you came from, your village was kinder toward my crew but for your safety and me crew's I decided to not return there in case they  come after us." Sonic sat listening to Shadow's story on the history he had no questions at the time.

Shadow opened the book before passing it to Sonic. " Each person has a story to tell or part of one, you're the first of your kind to join my crew so i'll let you write about your experiences, I wrote mine here when my father passed it's more of a book containing big events with the crew not a captain's log, my father was in a battle it was a hard one in order to protect me.... so many lives were lost it's a long story i'll save it for another time once you get more accustomed to your new life." Shadow passed a pen to the hedgehog  the blue hedgehog stared at the blank space in front of him. " How many pages do I get?" he asked  

" Doesn't matter honestly." The captain replied with that the pen's tip hit the first line on the left hand side starting with my name's Sonic born a normal hedgehog to a family of four two siblings, a mom, and a dad... I was mostly normal except born with super speed. I was an abomination to my mom she ended up leaving with my siblings it's my fault....  Captain Shadow found me though after I blacked out from a beating....I stole food and my dad found out he didn't want me to eat...but meeting Shadow and now being welcome to his crew is giving me a better purpose to life and a family to call my own, I'll do my best to put my skills to good use. 

He soon finished the captain didn't read it once the ink dried he closed the book and put it back on the shelf from which it came.  Sonic was taken above to the main deck he could see his village in the distance the sea was in view as well a flock of  sea gulls flew toward the village squawking to one another loudly. The crew stopped to look at the two before bowing down greeting them. " Alright my crew, this is Sonic he'll be joining us on our travels and finding treasure to trade. " The captain spoke to the crew none seemed to have any complaints about the matter Sonic was now one of them since he was a commoner they all thought trading with mobians would be easier now than it was before.
