It was an indifferent feeling for Jungkook. He was preparing all he could for the night but he didn't want the night to come as well.

Now that he knows that Taehyung won't meet him after tomorrow, his heart is not in the right place.

He picked a few things from Mrs Johnson's house and lightly decorated the room with glass ceilings.

She also helped him in cooking dinner and didn't ask too many questions when Jungkook was visibly sad.

Taehyung on the other hand was not saying anything at all.
Jungkook didn't ask him any questions about it. Whatever it was, Taehyung has made it clear that Jungkook is no one in his life.

This night will be the perfect ending to a short-lived one-sided love.
When the sky was dark again and the stars were visible, both of them went to the room together.

Taehyung gasped looking at the room filled with candles.
"I assumed that you liked candles so I brought each and every one I could find."

The centre of the room, just below the glass ceiling had a mattress on it for them. They were surrounded by snow and silence.

They walked to the middle and Jungkook held Taehyung's hand.

"I prepared dinner."

He showed him a small table with food and wine on it.

"You...you didn't have to do this much. " Taehyung's voice broke, "It's too much for a stranger."

"But you're not a stranger, Taehyung."

Jungkook saw the darkness melting in Taehyung's eyes. Little by little.

He poured two glasses of wine and sat on the mattress.
Taehyung took the plates of food and sat on the mattress beside Jungkook.
"But we are strangers. You don't know anything about me."

"Then tell me."
Jungkook pecked his lips,
"Tell me as much as you're comfortable telling me."

Both of them were silent for a few seconds. Jungkook had no plan, he didn't even know what the goal was supposed to be.

"What do you want to know?"
His heart was a little less heavy now. At least he is willing to open up.

"Let's start with the basics, where are you from?"
Taehyung took a sip of the wine, "Born in Daegu but my family shifted to various places in my childhood. My parents work in foreign ministry so I lived in various parts of the world."

That must've been exhausting.
"Then how did you keep in touch with your friends?"
Taehyung laughed a bitter laugh, "You don't make friends like this, Jungkook. Not when you don't know if you were to leave the country next week."

Sums up Taehyung's attitude. He never got the chance to make friends and share things with them.
Jungkook was about to say something before Taehyung interrupted, "Although there was this one boy, Park Jimin..."

An ex?

"What about Park Jimin?"

Taehyung lay down on the mattress with both his hands supporting his head, "His parents were in the foreign ministry as well
so we bumped into each other quite a few times. He was so...bubbly and cute."

Taehyung's voice got heavy with the memory he was sharing, "He used to call us soulmates. He would remind me of all the good things in the world when I used to cry alone in my room."

Taehyung looked at the stars and the Jungkook, "He used to say that Taetae I will always be with you no matter what happens."

"Taetae was your name?"
