Agent 00013 : Foxeyes

A glimpse into the past

"Agent 00013. This is how this corporation will refer to you from now on, welcome and get ready because soon you'll get to work."

"I am very grateful to work here Mister R."

"You should be, not many people make it very far in life at your age."

*I watched as Mister R. walked ahead of me. The corridor of the corporation was very spacious and the walls were painted white. It was clean. No more blood stained sheets, smell of cigarettes and alcohol. There was silence instead of the shouting and gunshots of the underground city. I felt peace. Finally peace and quiet after years of being at war with both the world and myself.*

*I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Mister R's voice :*

"This shall be your office for now. You're free to add changes if you please , of course.. As long as you make sure to tell me about it"

"Goodness! Thank you so much! I never had a space for myself before!"

"Oh.. Then I'm glad, Sarah. Not many of our agents seem happy with an office like this"

"It's perfect for me. " *I said putting the box I held on the desk. There were a few things that I cherished : some old family photos, a journal and a pack of cigarettes. No, I don't smoke, not anymore. It's the last pack I had before I left that dark path. I keep it as a reminder that I could let a bad habit go.*

*I smiled kindly at my new boss , it was a thing people did when they were happy and content, right? Oh well, he simply gave me a nod and left the office... My office. Weird. I decided to put my stuff around. I put on the costume that I needed to wear as an agent for this company, everyone was wearing it. The only thing different was the symbols on each costume: mine was an eye. I was told that I have a great eyesight and I can notice things quickly in my surroundings*
