Yvete Pov :

In front of the mansion was a large gate. One of my father's workers inserted a keycard into a small crack in the wall, which lit up green. I don't know what it's called, but it opened the gate. My father and two bodyguards went ahead, while my brother whispered to me, "They seem to have a lot of money, these Kims." I just nodded in response. He was right; the mansion was very luxurious and must have been expensive. The Kims come from Korea, where the home must be even more luxurious.

A butler came to the door and led us into a very modern-looking room. It had a leather couch and leather armchairs, where six people were sitting. A deep, masculine voice began to speak, "Welcome. I hope your drive here wasn't too stressful. Please sit down." The man who spoke looked about 40, and since he was the only one who looked older, I assumed he was Mr. Kim.

We sat down, and I immediately felt uncomfortable on the leather furniture. A boy caught my eye; he looked about 18 years old and had a lot of tattoos on his arms. He also had an eyebrow piercing. His lips were a little thinner, and his eyes were big, doe eyes. His hair was black, slightly longer, and curly. Sitting next to him was another boy who looked a little younger but not by much. He had the same thin lips but slightly meaner-looking eyes. He had brown hair that was cut in a coconut hairstyle but still wavy.

Then there was a woman and a girl. The woman looked like Mr. Kim's wife and had big doe eyes. Her hair was black and cut in a bob. The girl next to her looked about 12 years old, had big lips and small eyes, and had black hair that was very long but braided. Next to Mr. Kim was another man, but he looked a lot younger, around 20.

I saw the tattooed one staring at me and I looked away awkwardly. Bodyguards were standing all around the room, which was very intimidating. Finally, Mr. Kim started to speak, "It's so nice to see you in person. I've heard a lot and I'm looking forward to working with you. To get to the point, my children will accompany your children, Mr. Smith, to school. As our plan for the business is still too rough to share with you, I'm asking you to cooperate and ensure that my children can feel safe with you."

"We will take good care of them and show them around and help them," said Shawn proudly. I just nodded because I didn't have to do much anyway. His children were older or younger than me and would not come to my class anyway. Besides, I wouldn't want to have contact with his children anyway. I just wanted to go home, to be honest.

"Great! Let me introduce you. This is Jimin, my youngest and only daughter. She's going to be in middle school, so you big ones don't have to worry about her. This is Hyun-ki," he said, pointing at the brown-haired one. "He's 16 years old." He smiled at us, and his smile was special; it was a gummy smile. "This is Jinwoo. He's 17 years old," he said, pointing at the tattooed one. Jinwoo just looked at us with his dark eyes. "

17 and tattoos, I thought. Isn't that too young? Well, I shouldn't interfere in something like that. "And my eldest son, who's sitting next to me, Minji, but he's already 23. He's already working for me."

Poor sister, I thought. If I had to imagine no sisters but only brothers, my head would burst. "Well, since school starts in two days, it would be nice if you could accompany them, yes?" asked my father. We just nodded. After that, Mr. Kim sent us out so he could talk to our parents a bit.

Lola immediately started a conversation with Jimin as they were about the same age, and I suspected they would eventually become best friends. The older boys also started to become friends. I stood next to Leila, who was already holding her iPad. I wasn't interested in making friends, although I have to admit that Jinwoo was pretty good-looking. But I was never really interesting anyway; I was just 'there' most of the time. I don't talk much, which is an advantage in some situations.

But then I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw that Carlos wanted to include me in their conversation. So I joined them and tried to smile a little, even though I didn't really feel like it. "What's your name?" Jinwoo asked, which made my smile a little more genuine as I felt like I was interesting.

"I'm Yvette, but you can also call me Ivy," I said. That was definitely the longest sentence I had said today. "Okay, Ivy it is," he said as he looked into my eyes. We made eye contact for about two seconds before I looked down awkwardly. For the rest of the conversation, I just stood there and listened as they talked about subjects and teachers. I hate school, which is why I had zero interest.

At some point, my father and mother finally came, and we said goodbye. I felt someone put something in my pocket, but before I could see who it was, Lola was already pulling me out of the big mansion. Back in the car, I reached into my pocket to pull out a crumpled note. I opened the note, and there was a telephone number written on it, and the title was the name Jinwoo.

I was a bit puzzled why he wanted to give me his number. I mean, the only thing he knows about me is that I'm a mafia's daughter, my name is Yvette, and that I'm 16. I debated whether to save it or not. I didn't have my phone with me anyway, so it didn't matter at first.

Thats it for this chapter , i swear its gonna get better .
