Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land , wizard of oz af
Twelve-year old Dorothy Gale who went to the land of Oz and defeated the Wicked Witch of the West for the citizens of Oz, is now twenty-years old and a junior in college — trying to live a normal life.
When she got back home from her time in Oz, she tried to tell her family and friends of the strange land she traveled to, but no-one believed her. They told her it was just her mind playing tricks on her. She didn't have any proof of her adventure, either, so she believed what her family was telling her, that she must have dreamt it.
But, while walking home one day, she sees a pink light. She follows the pink light and is somehow back in Oz.
When she arrives in Oz, she learns that the children of The Wicked Witch of the West and The Wicked Witch of the East have taken the throne from Glinda, The Goodwitch's daughter and have made Oz return back to a time of terror.
And the children of her old friends need her help to put the rightful ruler back on the throne.
RULES —
I. Be kind and respectful! If you're not respectful to me and everyone else who is applying, your oc will not be accepted.
II. Your forms must be detailed. Show me you put thought and effort into the form. Detailed forms are most likely to be accepted.
III. Be diverse! Some slots have set ethnicities while others don't. Please, be diverse with the faceclaims you use.
IV. Updates! I will to update as frequently as I can, but I am a freshman in college, there may be times where this isn't updated for a while. Don't pressure me to update this.
V. Faceclaim- time talk! The faceclaim age range is 18 -24. Make sure you check the age of the faceclaim you're using before you put them on your form. You're most likely to be accepted if you use one of my suggested faceclaims
VI. There are 8 slots in total, excluding mine, I will be accepting seven ocs. You can apply as many times as you want, just make sure that at least one of the slots you apply for is male.
VII. When you are doing your form, comment your oc's name and their slot. Then, reply to that comment with the form. I won't be accepting forms that don't follow this format. Google Docs are also acceptable!
SUMMER SPEAKS! I feel like I need to explain the plot some more because I don't want this to be confusing.
I haven't read the Wizard of Oz books, however, I looked up who the Queen or Princess of Oz is, and there is a princess. But I've only seen the Wizard of Oz ( 1939 ) so we're going to act like she doesn't exist lol. Glinda, who I was thought was Queen of Oz, is only the ruler of the Quadling Country — the Southern quadrant of Oz. Which is Dorothy ended up when she first landed in Oz. So, in this af, that is the part of Oz that Dorothy and the others will be fighting to restore order to.
The af is mainly based on the Alice In Wonderland ( 2010 ) Tim Burton movie where Alice is older, and she comes back to help the people of Wonderland. Since I think that Oz and Wonderland are similar, I thought it would be cool to have a Oz-take on that.
Even though this is posted, this won't officially start until early October or November!
