"JO SOOYUN, COME BACK HERE!" yelled Jisung, running to catch the girl. "Give me my lunch back!"

Sooyun kept running, it was better than messing with Jisung. "Come and catch me if you can!"

Jisung finally picked up speed and caught Sooyun by her backpack and grabbed his lunch bag. He flicked her on the forehead.

"Ouchh..!" She whined. "Please share your lunch with me, I forgot mine...!"

The boy looked her dead in the eye. "I would have anyways, you didn't have to run along with my lunch."

"But it's fun to trouble you..."

"Die."

Yoonah came along giggling. She took a seat next to the two on their usual lunch spot. "You two are so annoying. I wonder how I deal with you everyday."

"Because you love us." The duo replied, now stuffing their face with Jisung's lunch. "Right?"

Yoonah rolled her eyes. "You two will never change, I'd be surprised if you two manage to get dates by Graduation!"

"Grad's not until the end of year- it's only March, besides, I thought we all were going as friends?" Jisung asked, finishing his lunch.

"Not unless someone asks me ou-" Yoonah was stopped mid sentence by the bell.

"We'll discuss this later, let's get to class now." Sooyun interrupted, grabbing her school bag.

Now Sooyun was going to be all alone in class since Jisung and Yoonah were is a different class to her's.

Sooyun reluctantly entered her classroom to see it in chaos. Truth was, even if she knew a lot of people in school, she never really made friends except Jisung and Yoonah, they were there for since the were 13 year old middle schoolers.

She would give anything to be in their class, but the reason they were even separated was because they talked too much all lesson.

Taking her seat at the corner of the classroom, she sighed. She looked around, same old classroom, same old classmates.

"Settle down!" Beamed a male voice, catching everyone's attention. "Listen up!". Everyone looked up to see an middle-aged man, around 30. He wore a white shirt, red tie and an annoyed expression. "Books out."

"Where is Miss Jung, sir?" Asked Hyemi, one of the smartest students in class.

"She's on leave for 2 weeks, I'm substituting you for the time. I'm Mr. Dong." he stated as everyone hustled to take their books out. Nobody really seemed to like the new teacher much, he just had a bad attitude.

"Okay, let's see..." he started. "According to your teacher, you have done the basics of trigonometry, let's see how much you all know." He flipped through the textbook. "The hypotenuse is 11.9, and the..."

Sooyun found herself zoning out again. She had always been a pretty good math's student, but today she just found herself getting distracted from the lesson (perhaps because the teacher had such a boring voice).

"...now to see who was listening" he said in a stern voice. "Let's see...you over there" he pointed to a short girl, who CLEARLY wasn't paying any attention.

"Umm...I don't know really..." she replied in a small voice

He sighed and scanned around for another target, finally stopping his search at the front corner of the classroom. "Ahem, ahem. May I ask you to answer this question?"

The class looked in where the teacher was looking. It was a boy- Sunghoon, who was still writing his notes, clueless that the whole class was looking at him to answer the question.

He finally looked at the teacher with a confused expression. He nodded. Sooyun woke up from her daydreaming to look at what was happening.

He got up to go to the board and answer it, and got it right too. Yet he didn't say anything. The teacher appreciated him for being correct and sent him back to his desk.

'A new kid, no wonder I didn't know him' Sooyun thought and went back to her daydreaming. After what seemed like eternity, the substitute teacher finally told everyone to pack up for hometime.

She rushed over to the bus stop and found Jisung and Yoonah already waiting for her. The trio always walked home together, they have been as long as they an remember.

"I'm here people!" Sooyun announced.

They started to walk, when suddenly, Sooyun remembered about the new kid in their class. She was going to bring it up when Yoonah said something.

"So, you two have anything prepared for Prom and Graduation?" She asked as Jisung gave her a cheeky look. "I guess I'll have to help you like I did back in middle school..! Seriously, grow up you two!"

Jisung, clearly offended, defended himself, "Excuse me! I manage perfectly fine on my own," Yoonah gave him a stern look. "OK, OK, I guess me and Sooyun would be late everyday if it weren't for you...but still!"

Sooyun smiled, she had forgotten about the new kid in her class. "You guys...! Anyway, how about we hang out at my place after an hour, we can do homework together. You know how lonely I am in all my classes without you two!"

"Well, I thing it's about time you try making new friends," The two said together.

"But, obviously we'll come. You're our best friend!" Jisung added, giving his signature cheeky smile. "See you two in an hour, I've got chores..."

As promised, the trio met in an hour, with a lot to catch up on. The went to Sooyun's room, and got started on homework. Midway, Sooyun remembered what she wanted to tell the two.

"Oh, yeah! We have a new kid in class, I thing his name is Sungmin...no...Sunghoon, yeah!" She gushed. "He's smart, but really quiet..."

Yoonah nodded, still writing her equation.

Jisung on the other hand, gave her a confused look. "What do you mean 'new kid'? He's Sunghoon, Park Sunghoon! He been in your class since the start of this year dummy! He literally lives next door to me. If fact, I just saw him go home..." He said, still confused.

Sooyun looked defeated. "What do you mean?"

Jisung was close to bursting with laughter. "So you're telling me that you never noticed him just because he's mute?"

"HE'S MUTE! And I never saw him before...!" Now the three were laughing so hard their sides hurt. "Oh my god...that's stupid! I'll try to talk to him" She said between giggles.
