She looks at me

I look back

Her eyes dead silent

No emotion

I lay awake in the middle of the deep night. Unable to close my eyes and fall into a deep slumber, one that which could free my burdened soul.

My eyes speaks red, and it wants to close. But I remain wordless to its furious demands.

I stare blankly into the white wall, which has been dyed grey by the night sky. It looks back at me quietly. Unspeaking. Like a helpless newborn, looking curiously at the world, so meek and silently disgusting.

I am afraid to close my eyes. The unspoken truth that is, her face will once again come into my view, and haunt me like an endless nightmare. One which will repeat and torture me till I take my final breath of life.

Her figure masks in the shadows. Its unbearable. I wish to hug her in her most despicable form. Yet I cannot bear to witness the horrid sight of her mutilated body.

Her eyes.

Her lips.

Her moles.

Her freckles.

Her lashes.

Her cheeks.

Her brows.

Her hair.

Her ears.

Her bare skin which bleeds red when we intertwine.

Her existence, my bane.

She blooms so innocently in my tainted, poisoned mind.

That scent of gentle lavender that she's infused in smothers my deprived, hazy brain.

I wish to escape from this euphoric state that never lasts.

I was once free. But now I am bound to the black tar I have indulged myself in.

My Charlotte. My sweet innocent Charlotte.

Sing me a lullaby that baptises my corrupted soul.

Oh my sweet innocent Charlotte.

Sing me a lullaby that will awaken me from this unescapable illusion
