"...I didn't think I'd see you again."

"You do not want to see me? It's sad..." his voice echoed in your ears as you saw him in front of you.

His hands were in the pockets of his light black coat over a white T-shirt underneath.

"It's not like that...!" you said, adjusting your grip on the two shopping bags you had.

"Not so? So you want me after all! Were you hoping to see me again~?" He leaned down to be at eye level with you and watched your changing facial expressions.

You turned your head in confusion.

Did that mean you liked him? That you secretly hoped that one day he would come again and you could meet him?
You yourself didn't know the truth anymore...

Maybe he was just the only honest person in your life who didn't want to run away from you when he found out who you were?

Yes... He is SINCERE...

If you knew the truth about him, you would never even think that he ever had anything he spoke honestly about.

For you, he was the first man in this town who showed you more kindness than everyone else. You're sure about that. Because you've been living in this city for several years. The friends who were there for you in the beginning turned away from you when you gained your bad reputation.

And even though you told him the whole truth, he came back. The same smile on his face when he looked at you. The same weird square sunglasses he always wore. It's the same man. He had the same blue eyes and white hair. You remembered him. And you know it's definitely him.

Someone who wants to avoid you wouldn't come back here and meet you.

And here he was, smiling at you.

Almost a week ago, when he first came here, all he could think about was taking you, finishing his mission and going home to rest.

But it would be too boring if he didn't do something else.

And he also didn't want to make a scene in the heart of this town. He didn't want people to watch while he knocked you unconscious and carried you to the car to drive away.

Internally, he hoped that you would be a woman who would do anything for money or sex. Therefore, think that he will be able to pick you up, get you drunk and take you to the car according to your wishes. He could use his charm, right?

When he talked to you, he already knew that you were not the type of woman he thought of. You were calm and distrustful. At the beginning.

But just as he thought, you started to get a little more talkative as you drank some alcohol.
And he found something interesting in your conversation.

He was surprised to hear how nice he was talking to you. It was such a nice feeling... Someone with whom he found a common language.

And he found out you're not like that. You are not like the light his superiors put you in.

You are an ordinary, charming woman who cares about others. You never wanted to hurt anyone. Your technique is strong, but in return you received a cruel heavenly pact. You cannot see the danger that lurks around you every day.

You've had a little curse on your shoulder lately. He got rid of it by moving his hand as he took off the top of his uniform.

You were completely unaware that something had cursed you.

And it was obvious that with such a reputation you were especially vulnerable to curse attacks on you.

It was the obvious truth that he couldn't tell you.

Today there was another curse around your neck.

And he didn't want you to feel bad about little shit like this.

It wasn't fair.

You were kind and almost innocent. You've never killed anyone.

And you were supposed to go to execution because you are a possible threat to someone.

What an unfair fate has befallen you.

And honestly, he talked to you to spite his superiors. They wanted this mission to end quickly. But he wanted to extend it since you wouldn't be able to escape from him anyway.

He wanted to have fun.

But when he learned the truth, he no longer saw it as fun for him. You were unfairly judged. You're not bad. If he could convince you, you would become a very useful Jujutsu sorcerer! You would be safe.

You wouldn't have to die this quick and senseless death.

He didn't want you to die young without experiencing life as much as you could.

If he helped you...

But... Is it worth saving someone whose fate has been sealed...?

Your fate has already been decided. You were supposed to die. Even if he brought you and gave you great reasons to become a Jujutsu sorcerer to reveal the truth, his superiors would not agree. Even if he tells them what really happened, they won't believe him. They'll probably think you tricked him with your technique and told him to say so.

As long as he doesn't like you that much, maybe he should just give up on trying to save you?

No matter what he does, you will die at the hands of superiors.

So maybe as long as he hasn't grown attached to you, he should do his job and bring you in for execution.

But what is he supposed to do with this suffocating guilt he feels?

You are different from the rest and you make him feel good around you.
You understood him. Throughout your conversation, every time he changed his tone or topic, you adjusted. Two hours of talking to you and he found your common ground. This is something abnormal...

You were just like him...
Turned away from the world...

Like Suguru...

However, you didn't do anything wrong...

But no matter how he tries, he won't come up with anything to make you trust him so quickly. No matter what he did, you would die anyway.

So there's no reason to try to do something impossible like save your life.

You will die anyway.

As long as he isn't that attached to you, he will just let things be as they are.

By pretending to be your friend and not your enforcer, he will simply let you smile as long as you are still alive. Even though in a few days he will simply take you to Tokyo where you will end your short life. Receiving a young death.

He could ignore the guilt until he accepted that he couldn't save someone without a future written in fate.

He could let you die while being executed. Or he could just leave you alone and go away so he wouldn't have to watch all the curses he saw in your house slowly kill you.

His mind was just telling him, "Just go until you feel nothing. Until you feel attached. Just go..."

What do you think, a happy ending or not so much?

A few things I didn't mention in the chapter:
Gojo returned to the reader after some time because he honestly forgot about this mission. According to him, it's not a priority because you're not dangerous. Until finally he forgot.
The assistant who was with him at the beginning reminded him of this.
But still, he started to regret what he had to do with you.
But he has to do it before he starts to regret too much.

Here I compared the reader with Suguru. What I mean here is more that Gojo notices her just as he saw Suguru's behavior.
