Colorful Hearts: A Tale of Forbidden Love (Spencer Agnew x Ryland Adams)

Chapter One: Awkward Encounters on Set.

(note before reading: I have never written a fanfic before and this is also just for goofs and laughs so pls dont judge on my writing.)

(Also want to add, this is set in 2016 during the Defy days!!) 

It was a normal day on the Clevver Style Beauty Break set: Lily and Joslyn were touching up on their makeup, while Spencer was getting a mic taped to his shirtless chest. Suddenly a new but familiar face walks in.

"Hey guys!" says a cheerful Ryland as he takes off his shirt.

Spencer blushes and avoids eye contact..

"H-hey... Ryland!!"

Spencer has found himself fawning over the new guy Ryland. He was new to the team but fit right in, especially with Spencer. The girls Lily and Joslyn were surprised by that fact, as Ryland is more outgoing and Spencer keeps to himself a lot, but they were happy to see them getting along.

Ryland goes up next to Spencer to get his mic taped to him and starts a conversation..

"I'm excited to be in todays video, I heard it was your idea, so I can't lie and say that didn't made me more excited!" said Ryland looking longingly into Spencers eyes

Spencer tries to act calm, but finds it hard to do so; sweating nervously and blushing he says..

"Yeah well it is your first video on Beauty Break, so I thought it would be a fun start to the day"

Ryland smiles at Spencer, making him more flustered

Spencer, trying to avoid the awkward situation says, "Well I should go finish setting up!!" He swiftly turns away before Ryland could respond.

All four sit down in their seats and start recording. Spencer was worried about seeming too nervous near Ryland, but played it off as well as he could.

The recording went well, Spencer thought as they wrapped up the end.

"And cut!" Yelled a director, "great job everyone, Spencer and Ryland, go get cleaned up!"

Spencer and Ryland head towards the showers they have placed in the office, talking about the recording on the way.

"So how did you think your first video went?" asked Spencer.

"Really good!" said Ryland, "better because you were there too"

Spencer awkwardly laughed

"That's good to hear!"

There was an awkward silence, Spencer desperately wanted to say something, but feared it would make it more awkward..

Ryland starts to say something..

"But I... I didn't know you had a gir-"

Lily sneaks up behind them, cutting Ryland off

"Hey guys! Great work today!"

She starts going off about something random, Spencer engages but keeps looking over at Ryland, noticing a somewhat sad expression on his face.

As they get to the showers Lily says goodbye to the respective two and walks away.

The silence returns, making Spencer wish Lily never left

They stand there for a few minutes before Spencer speaks up..

"You can go first, you have more dye on you anyways"

He laughs trying to make light of the situation they are in.

Ryland lets out a slight chuckle and smiles at Spencer

"Thanks.. I won't take long"

Before Spencer could respond, Ryland turned away.

Spencer sits down by the door, thinking of the expressions on Rylands face..

He thinks to himself

"He looked so sad.. What was he trying to say again... girl... friend? My girlfriend? He's upset because I have a girlfriend?"

These thoughts kept looping around his brain until Ryland came out the shower

"Spencer... Spencer..! SPENCER!!"

Spencer snapped out of his hypnotic state

"Oh Ryland! That was fast. I was lost in thought, sorry.."

He looked Ryland up and down without realizing it. Only wearing a towel around his waist, the dripping water falling down his torso, the slicked back hair, the slight red coloring of his cheeks, it was mesmerizing to Spencer.

He quickly gained his attention back and stood up

"I.. I'm gonna go.. shower now!!!"

He turns to walk away when Ryland stops him

"Wait!.." he calls out, "What are you doing later, after work?"

Spencer turns back to Ryland

"Uhm, probably nothing.. whats up?"

Ryland plays with his fingers, looking nervous

"We should hang out! Go to dinner or something.."

Spencer blushes and tries to hide his growing smile

"Yeah I'd love to!"

Ryland smiles

"Cool! I'll let you shower now, we can talk more about it later"

"Sounds good!" Spencer says, smiling wildly

He turns once more and heads to take a shower.
