Ian, Spencers boss, walks up to his desk
"Hey Spencer, good work today, see you Monday"
He pats him on the back indicating its time for Spencer to leave as well
"Yeah see you later!"
Without another word he grabs his things and heads to where he and Ryland agreed to meet up. With each step he becomes more and more anxious, excited but afraid for what's to come.
He spots Ryland looking down at his phone, he calls out to him
"Ryland!! Hey!"
Ryland looks up with a big smile and walks towards Spencer
"Hey Spencer!"
He opens his arms up for a hug, Spencer grows nervous but embraces him with a welcoming hug
"Are you ready?" Ryland says,
Spencer pauses, looking a little embarrassed
"I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to reschedule"
Ryland frowns, looking disappointed and upset
"Not because of anything you did!" Spencer saying, "It's just.."
He pauses, taking a deep breath
"I really like you!" his face starts to glow a red color, "But I have a girlfriend, and I really care about her, but it's not fair to her or you if I stay in that relationship with these feelings I have for you. I want to do the right thing before we.."
He looks up at Ryland
"Before we go out, on a date.."
He waits for Ryland to respond, his heart beating out of his chest
"If it is a date that is! If it's not I would like it to be a date... if you want it to be a date as well!"
He starts to ramble trying to fill the tension
Ryland smiles and starts to chuckle, stopping Spencer from his rambling
"Wow... you really are cute Spencer.." He says wiping away tears from laughter
"Of course I want it to be a date, I was nervous asking at all because I found out you had a girlfriend, but I still wanted to come clean with my feelings for you"
Spencer blushes and smiles, relieved at his reaction
"Thank you for understanding, I promise I'll make it up to you soon"
Ryland puts his hand on Spencers shoulders and looks him in his glowing green eyes
"Of course, I've waited this long, I can wait a little longer"
Spencer pulls him in for a hug, and they embrace for a few minutes, but in his arms, Spencer feels like they were there for an eternity.
As they are embracing one another, Shayne is seen nearby watching, saddened by their happy reactions to one another
Damien goes up to Shayne, knowing all about his feelings for Spencer.
He pats him on the back trying to comfort him
"Hey lets go hang out, just me and you to get your mind off things"
Shayne reluctantly agrees, upset about Spencer, but happy to know his best friend is there to comfort him.
He watches as Ryland and Spencer walk out, and follow suit with Damien.
Spencer and Ryland part ways in the parking lot, and as Spencer has a moment to himself, he thinks of the things to say to his partner.
The car ride home he mumbles to himself key parts of the conversation
"You mean a lot to me... that will never change..."
"I think it's best if we part ways..."
He pulls up to his apartment building and sits in his car for a few minutes, collecting his last few thoughts before walking up.
He opens the door and is greeted by a beautiful cat, petting her before calling out to his girlfriend
"Hey I'm home!!" he says
"Hey Spen!" He hears coming from another room
He goes up to her and is greeted with her sitting at her desk
"How was work?" She says
"It was okay!" He says nervously
She catches on to his anxiousness and turns away from her work
"Hey what's wrong, you're acting weird"
He sits down on the chair next to hers and looks her in her eyes
"Yeah, I need to tell you something.."
He looks down at his hands, fidgeting with them
"We've been together for some time now, and I really care about you a lot, you were my first for everything..."
She smiles brightly but he doesn't seem to notice her growing joy
"But... I think we should break up"
Her face drops instantly
"Wh.. what"
He looks up at her worried
"It's nothing you did really! I just, I think I might be gay, and I want to experiment with this new found identity, and it's not fair to do that while we're together"
He pauses
"I'm really sorry.."
He looks back down and she starts to cry
"You idiot you should've started with that"
In between cries she says "I.. thought you were.. going to.. propose"
He looks up to her and starts to panic
"I-I'm sorry.. I really am"
She punches his arm slightly and starts to laugh
"What- why are you laughing??" He grows more worried with her reactions
"I knew you were gay from the moment we met idiot"
He has a dumbfounded expression
"What!?" He exclaimed
"It was so obvious, you would always talk about how hot guys were, and you would always joke about getting pegged, I just thought you might have been bi or something"
He chuckles a little
"I really am an idiot huh"
They both laughed and cried together, talking about what's next to come the rest of the night.
