Rise of the Living Dead Part 1

Chapter 1: The Experiment

At a secret Atlantis research facility in Southern California, Doctor Gideon Reynolds and his assistant John MacDonald are anxious to conduct their tenth experiment on a human corpse. "I'm ready", Dr Reynolds said, "give me the Green flu". John handed a syringe containing the disease to Dr Reynolds.

Green Flu is a genetically engineered virus/bacteria, which has the ability to reanimate the dead and turn them into flesh eating, cannibalistic undead "mutants". Green Flu was created by the science division of the Atlantis Corporation, a private military and security corporation. Atlantis' goal is to turn the Green Flu into a bio weapon and use it to turn the deceased into undead super-soldiers to combat the Soviet Union in the Cold War.

Gideon, with the syringe in hand, walked over to a stretcher with the corpse on it and injected the disease into the cadaver's brain. After the syringe was empty, Gideon slowly removed the syringe from the cadaver and stepped back and waiting for the disease to reanimate the body. However, nothing was happening. "Are you serious", Gideon said frustrated, "nothing's happening". John began to speak. "But that's impossible, the test's on the animals were positive". Just then, the corpse's hand began to move!

"Wait", Gideon said, "something's happening"! The corpse's other hand began to move, then it's legs, and then it's head. The two scientist's exchanged glances, and then looked back at the reanimating body. The corpse then opened it's eyes, which gave off a bright yellow glow, and it rolled off the stretcher and onto the floor. "Get up", John demanded. The corpse gave John a quick look, and growled at him. "GET UP", John yelled. This time, the corpse did as it was told, and it got to it's feet. "Yes, yes", Gideon said. John then continued to give orders. "Good, now walk toward me". The reanimated corpse then began to walk slowly towards John, moaning and groaning. "That's it", John continued, "just keep doing what your doing". The corpse continued to walk towards John, but it appeared to be picking up speed! "Okay, now stop", John ordered. But this time, the corpse didn't listen. "I said, STOP", he yelled. This enraged the corpse, and it began to sprint towards John!

Chapter 2: The failure

The corpse tackled John to the ground, and attempted to rip his throat out. "GET THIS UNDEAD A-HOLE OFF OF ME", he yelled. Gideon reached into his lab coat pocket and pulled out a desert eagle, and fired a single bullet into the corpse's brain, killing it. Blood splattered all over John's face and lab coat, and the corpse fell onto his torso. He quickly pushed the once again lifeless body off his torso, and got to his feet. "Aw, yuck. Gut gobbler guts all over me", he said in disgust. Gideon lowered his gun, and turned to John. "Might wanna get yourself cleaned up", he said, "I think the disease can transmit through blood". John quickly ran out of the laboratory and headed to the facilities decontamination zone.

Due to this being the tenth failure to control the living dead, the Atlantis Corporation board of directors orders a meeting to be held in the facilities administration room to discuss the future of the project.
