Blythe would snap back to reality, feeling her eyes getting heavy. Not in the way you feel when you are tired, but like her eyes were heavy from tears that she just physically cant get out. She would wince, feeling like her body was holding up something really heavy, but it was really only the weight of the grief Blythe had been keeping in her body since her mother disapeared. For months she wouldn't let herself feel the grief because it would destroy her.
The grief had been stocking up inside of her all this time, because not only was her mother her best friend, she was also the only person was willing to listen to her. It sounds really depressing but it was what it was, her dad was there and she loved him but things has changed. After her mom's disapperance her dad has been different, and not good different but also not changed in the way that you might think. Like that he changed because he lost the love of his life, no, it was more like different in weird way. But Blythe didn't think of it too much, because she could easily put herself in a spiral of thoughts and wonders.
Time went, as the young girl felt as the tears that was holding her back. All the thoughts, even the grief, it all swelled over. In the moment it felt like the weight of her shoulders just disapeared and she sniffled as she started to cry. Floods of tears ran down her freckled, sun-kissed skin. As she sobbed she would crawl up into a ball, having her tired head rested against a broken bookshelf.
As time went, she had spent a long 30 minutes only crying out her grief in a hoarded attic. No one even was looking where she had gone, it was only her and the wind banging on the window from outside. She finally gathered herself and wiped her tears, standing up on shaky legs. She'd grab the photo album, along with the beautifully red scarf. Slowly closing the box and making her way the old creaky hardwood stairs that led down from the attic. As she finally got down from the attic she could tell how cold it had been because her body shook from the wave of warmth that came from the house. She did a last glance at the attic and went to her room, where she just flopped onto the bed.
She would grab her pillow, tightly hugging it, as her eyes got heavy. But this time it wasn't because of how upset she was, this time it was because she was exhausted. Her eyes slowly fluttered and closed, as she fell into a deep sleep. A sleep with a lot of thoughts and dreams, maybe some nightmares, guess we only got to find out.
Blythe's dream
There a girl stood in the shadows, in a gown with gracefully placed over her body. It was a very detailed gown, lined with a beautiful made lace. The whiteness of the gown had a hint of pink it it, it was so pretty. There was also a big bow placed on the front of the gown, wrapped all the way around the girl figure. She couldn't specify who it was, but as the person looked up she could directly recognize the soft look of the girl's face. It was her mother, it felt so surreal like she felt real but at the same time not. The shadow she was standing in lightened and turned into a sort of radiance of light. An Afterglow. Her mother's face was so beautiful, her features were soft but still stuck out. Her golden hair glistened and Blythe felt that her heart was stuck in her throat. ''mom...'' She managed to say, when her mom started recede from Blythe's view. She felt herself wanting to run after her but it was like she was stuck. ''Mom! No, wait!'' She'd yell, feeling a sadness creep up on her ''MOM!''
End of dream
She woke up from her dream, feeling herself struggling to catch her breath. It was like her heart was stuck in her throat. She would reach for her headphones, and as she put them on there was a was a wave of comfort that went through her body. She put on a Frank Ocean song, Pink + White. She would slowly drift into a deep sleep, this time without any dreams..or well nightmares.
