Crystal: princess go upstairs while me and daddy talk. i'll be up there in a few

Dior: okay mommy! *running upstairs*

Crystal and Devale sat on the couch facing each other. Devale was fidgeting with his fingers when Crystal grabbed his hands.

Crystal: do we want to talk about it now?

Devale: did y'all talk to her?

Crystal: yea she was complimenting Sky

Devale: how long?

Crystal: it was for a minute why?

Devale: so she stood there and had a conversation with y'all and didn't even know who the child standing in front of her was?

Crystal: when you put it like that-

Devale: that's exactly what fucking happened!

Crystal jumped

Devale: *sighs* i'm sorry for yelling.

Crystal: baby, it's okay to be mad. what she did was fucked up. and not knowing your child is insane. but i'm here okay?

Devale: mhm

Crystal: go in the room and relax. i'm gonna go with princess and then i'll start on dinner

They kiss and Crystal goes upstairs while Devale goes into her bedroom. He lays out on the bed thinking about if she pops back up what will she do. He then called his mom.

Devale: hey ma

Violet: hey son. where's my daughter in law?

Devale: ma she's with Sky

Violet: aw hell what happened i can hear it in your voice

Devale: i saw Sky's birth giver today

Violet: did Skylar see her? what happened? is my baby okay?

Devale: ma she's fine, she was with Crystal. she doesn't even know who that lady is.

Violet: so why are you mad?

Devale: i'm mad because that whole time she was talking to Crys and Sky, she didn't recognize her own child. that pissed me off ma. she probably didn't put the pieces together until she saw me

Violet: son i understand your frustrations. but think about it like this. She was never a mother to Skylar. That whole first year of her life she was never there. You can't be mad at her. it was a while ago. Now look you have an amazing woman by your side and she's been a damn good mother to your daughter in a short amount of time.

Devale: ma what if she come back trying to be a "mother"

Violet: she's going to have to go through the courts and even then she won't win because at this point it's about who Sky is comfortable being around. Skylar doesn't know that woman.
