Ajax walked into the library, not expecting much anyone to be there. But, to his surprise. He walked in, and saw a man, a man he had loved for a while now, actually. It was Morax, Zhongli, Rex Lapis. Whatever you knew him by, Ajax loved.
"Morax, what brings you here?'
He said while taking a seat next to the man who appeared to be drinking tea.
"Just some light reading."
Morax directed their gaze to a stack of books on the floor, making Ajax stiffle a laugh. The brunette man always had a way to make him laugh, it was one of the things he adored so about him.
"And what brings you here tonight, dear?"
The brunette man set down the tea cup and looked over to the beauty next to him, admiring how he glowed in the light from the lamps.
"passing the time. I was excited to see you tonight."
Ajax said plinly with a small smile as he looked at his lover whom he was dreading yet ecstatic to see later.
"Ah, I understand. And what will you do now that you're with me?"
He asked with a most sincere expression, lightly grabbing the other mans hand and stroking his cold fingers softly with his thumb.
"Think about you until the time you leave me."
"Right.. I truly do love you so, my darling"
The seemingly cold man says, in a tone of sadness and sorrow.. Ajax just nods to his words, still processing everything that has happened in the past years of his life. Especially in the last year.. when Morax was a main component in his life time, and forever will be..
"I love you too, lov- I mean Morax"
The ginger says, taking back some of his words.. Morax nods and removes his hand from the others grasps. Then he proceeded to pick up a book from the stack, the very first one, didn't look old but definitely not new. The god handed it to Ajax, slight smile on his face.
"What's this?"
The ginger asked curiously, taking the book into his hands.
"One of my favorites.. the story of Catherine and Rudolph.. quite the tragic ending"
The brunette states as his hands fall into his lap, looking at Ajax.. the man he loved for so many years.. the only one that was truly made for him..
"Oh? I think I remember this.. Dangerously yours.. a love story that follows a path of tragedy"
Ajax says with a sad tint added to his voice. Morax smiled, thoughts of his lover flooding through his mind, years replaying..
"Well.. I must be off now, I shall see you later, Ajax. The moon is supposed to be sweet."
Morax got up silently, almost like he'd practiced a quiet exit for these last few moments with his late lover.
"Of course, I wouldn't miss it for Teyvat. It's the anniversary."

-TIME SKIP TO LATER THAT NIGHT-

Ajax had gotten on his favorite dress. He didn't really like dresses, but he had worn this on his first ever outing with Morax, they had gone to see shooting stars.
He still remembers it vividly. 'Look Morax! A shooting star! Did you make a wish?' he also remembered that Morax didn't have enough time to wish, and that if he did, he would wish we were two different people.. who didn't have to say goodbye.
"Ah! Ajax, right over here!"
The ginger turned to see Morax sitting on a bench, waving his hand over.
"Oh, you look dashing tonight,Morax. Just like always."
He said while sitting down next to the man, fluffing out his dress a little.
"So, my dear."
Ajax perked up a little at the use of his old pet name that Morax would use all the time. He didn't know why he stopped.
"Yes?"
A reply instantly came out of his mouth, desperately wanting to talk to the beautiful man.
"Have you given it any thought? You know.. your life after tonight?"
And just as quick as Ajax had perked up.. he frowned slightly.
"No.. because.... well, I love you. You took my heart, Morax. And now, you want to give it back? I know I can't ever stop loving you, I KNOW that your- our love has sprouted flowers in my lungs."
AJax had rambled on, not knowing how much time was passing, just needing to tell the man he loved, how much he truly needed him.
"It is moments like these when I wish we were two other people, who didn't need to say goodbye."
Morax commented, smiling slightly as he took the shivering mans hand in his.
"You need to let go, dear."
He continued, putting an arm around Ajax, which didn't warm him and only made him more sad.
"I love you, Morax."
Ajax said, looking at the clock which was about to strike, and back to his love, who would dissapear.
"Goodbye."
