A/N anyone who reads this pls leave a comment bc like idk .. anyways this is leaving off directly from last chapter except time skip to lunch. TW brief mention of SA
                                       Tara Pov

   It was lunch time, so I immediately walked over to ambers classroom where we would meet up everyday. We walked over to the lunch tables and just sat down. It was pretty much out there that the school food was absolute dog shit, so we didn't really eat anything. Sometimes we would go off campus for lunch or just bring something from home, but I had forgotten so I just ate nothing, or at least I was planning on eating nothing.

"Hey Tara you didn't bring anything?" Amber asked me in a questioning tone.

"No I didn't, but that's okay I'll be good." I responded and flashed her a smile.
"Here, you gotta eat something carpenter." She said as she handed me an apple while eating one herself.
"Oh, thanks ambs." I smiled at her and she smiled back.
    
    I always loved how protective and caring she was over me, I mean some might consider it weird that we're this close and that we're just friends. We have definitely been mistaken for being more many times. But she's not just a friend, she's my best friend. My favorite person for sure. She was there for me when no one else was. When my mom would come home drunk, she was there. When my mom had beat me when she came home with her new bf, she was there. When my sister got up and left me alone with my drunk mother to deal with all alone when i was 13, she was there. Vice versa, we were there for each other no matter what. We rarely ever fought, and when we did we resolved it within the next 10 minutes. I've known her since elementary school, and we have pretty much been inseparable since.
     
   We were currently listening to Mindy and Chad's daily twin bickering, and I was cuddled up to amber laying my head on her shoulder. She didn't mind it, I never pushed her boundaries because I knew she wasn't the biggest fan of physical touch, but she trusted me enough that sometimes she embraced it and went along. Today seemed to be like one of those days because she put her arm around me and pulled me closer.
"Dude ur literally on something if you think that. Amber cmon back me up." said Mindy

"What are u guys even on about??" Asked amber
"Have u not been listening??" Asked Mindy slightly
Annoyed. amber shook her head no.

"Ok ugh, Chad thinks that canes is extremely overrated and that it's horrendously mid." responded Mindy
"That's because it is!!" Chad chimed in
"Bro what?? Canes is good asf what r u talking about" said amber

"I have to agree with Chad. It's literally gross asf without the sauce." Wes said as he joined in the argument

"Well #1 it's literally not, and #2 that's why u eat it WITH the sauce?? Like wtf?" Said amber looking at wes almost disgusted at his comment as if it was obvious.

"EXACTLY. THANK YOU. See guys, this is why amber is my favorite. She gets it. Unlike Chad and Wes' dumbasses who r just imbeciles." said Mindy

   Chad and Wes rolled their eyes. As liv comforted Chad, amber just laughed in response to mindys comment. I know that Amber and Mindy are close, not as close as her and I but I couldn't help but feel a slight bit of jealousy from the situation. I decided to just ignore it and lean further into amber.
                                    Amber Pov

    Tara leaned further into me, but I didn't really mind it. I just held her closer. Usually I'm not a fan of anything physical but today was different. Something was different. The bell rang, but Tara didn't get up. I shook her a bit and she seemed to snap out of whatever zone she was previously in.
"Hey T, are you okay?" I asked a bit concerned.
"Yea ambs I'm good, I was just thinking, thanks for asking." She responded.
"Okay.. we'll let's go to class now." I said as I smiled at her and we got up and walked to class
