Walking into the Bat Mitzvah with her parents, Noah couldn't help when her eyes brightened substantially.
"Now, this is a party." Her father spoke, causing her to slowly nod her head in agreement, still amazed at the sight before her.
There were kids and adults scattered all over the place, there were food stands and drink stands. Even DJ Schmuley was there behind the music stand.
And the best part ever, Noah would get to see her best friend for the first time since summer break started.
Sophie Reynolds had been her best friend since the summer before sixth grade, but they had known each other since they were little. They didn't really click until they got older, more mature, and realized they had more in common than they thought. So, they started hanging out. And that led to the best friendship Noah ever had, at least in her opinion.
"Noah!" A familiar voice called out, causing Noah to turn with a smile.
"Soph!"
The two hurried towards each other, crashing into a tight hug.
"Oh my god, I missed you so much." Sophie mumbled. "I have so much to tell you, you'll never believe what happened on vacation."
"I can't wait to hear it." Noah smiled, breaking apart to look around more. "Where to first..."
Noah Gray was frozen, like ice, except she wasn't cold. Actually, she was quite warm. But still, there she stood, as frozen as a mammoth in the Arctic. For in front of her, mere feet away, stood the most beautiful boy she had ever seen. Not including Benjamin Wadsworth, of course.
"Noah?" Fingers snapping in front of her face brought Noah out of her trance, causing her to blink rapidly before turning to her best friend.
"What was that?" Noah questioned. Sophie giggled to herself before speaking, struggling to keep her composure.
"You tell me, ice block." Noah's cheeks began burning, causing her to look at the floor, embarrassed.
"Aww, you're blushing!" Sophie teased causing Noah to slap her hands away from her face that were moving to pinch her cheeks.
"Did someone say blushing?" Lydia Rodriquez-Kats spoke, smiling at the two best friends, Stacy Friedman, Tara, and Nikki next to her, smiling as well. "Because of whom?"
Noah's eyes widened as she suddenly realized who she had been staring the second her eyes met Stacy's. She had been staring, quite intensely, at Andy Goldfarb. And just about everyone - besides Andy - knew that Stacy Friedman had the biggest crush on him since they could all remember. So, you could imagine Noah's want, or rather need, to hide the fact she had just been googly eyeing her friend's crush, or at least someone she considered a friend.
"No one!" Noah spoke quickly, and quite loudly, causing a few heads to turn in their direction, and her cheeks to become even warmer. "No one at all. You know, I was actually just looking at the cheese fountain. Speaking of cheese, I think I'm going to go get some. Gotta run!" And with that, Noah rushed off, Sophie giggling softly at her best friend's awkwardness.

When she was finally at the cheese fountain, and out of her friends' prying eyes, she slid into a chair, out of breath from pushing people out of the way.
"Are you okay?" A voice spoke, causing Noah to turn. It was a boy that came to the Temple often, however she still somehow didn't know his name.
"Yeah, just tired from getting pushed all around in the crowd."
