With the sun beaming in, Yuri slowly opened her eyes to find Reed peacefully sleeping in the bed next to her. She looked over at the clock, reading out 10:22am.Yuri sighed as she tossed the covers back, lifting from the bed as Reed shifted in his sleep. She placed on her slides and made her way to the bathroom, starting the shower and running the sink before she stripped away her shorts and grabbed her toothbrush.
"Another day. Nine days and counting." She told herself, smiling in the mirror before beginning to brush her teeth.
After a twenty minute shower, Yuri left out the bathroom, seeing Reed still asleep. Taking the peace she had now, Yuri made her way downstairs to let him sleep.
She entered the kitchen, seeing a bag of Waffle House sitting on the counter. Her heart began to melt until she realized who the food was from, replacing her wide smile with a small one. Grabbing the plates out of the bag, she grabbed her phone and made her way to the living room couch. For the next two hours, Yuri enjoyed her food, social media and various of soft music playing in the background from the tv.
"I have to leave early for this weekend. I won't be back until Wednesday before your birthday on Saturday." Yuri heard Reed's voice, mentioning her birthday that was just nine days away.
Reed came downstairs, fully dressed for the day with his phone glued to his hand. She looked over his outfit, wondering how someone so handsome could be so evil.
"Did you hear me?" He asked again, looking up from his phone as he joined her in the living room.
Reed looked up at the tv, seeing NAO playing on Apple Music. He shook his head as he turned back to Yuri, wondering why he chose to date someone so fine but lame as hell to him. She wasn't tough enough in his eyes, but no one could ever say that they had touched her sexually except him, so he was okay with that.
"Yeah. So, am I supposed to stay in the house the whole time?" Yuri asked, already knowing his answer.
"No. I expect you to call a friend over or go out to shop or eat. Just make sure to take your phone and wallet and answer when I call." He replied.
Yuri looked over at him, shocked. This was the first time that Reed had to go on a trip this long and she had never heard those words come from his mouth, in the same sentence.
"Seriously?" She asked.
Reed nodded back, looking down at his phone again. "It's a little situation that I have to handle out of state. I added some more money to your bank account and left a little in a duffle by the bed." He said, keeping his eyes on his phone.
