Tears welled up in Siyoung's eyes. She didn't want to cry, but she genuinely loved Jinyoung, and what he had said hurt her, even if he didn't mean it seriously. Just the thought that this sentence had crossed his mind and he had decided to say it out loud hurt her.
She knew she certainly wasn't as strong as he was. After all, he was a former UDT soldier - one of the toughest units. But despite that, she didn't consider herself weak or someone who needed constant supervision because she couldn't take care of herself. She went to the gym and practiced kickboxing and boxing, so she knew how to defend herself.
"Stupid Jinyoung," Siyoung kicked a can that was a short distance away from her. There was more garbage on the ground, but the can seemed like the best option.
"Troubles in paradise?" a voice asked from nearby. She couldn't see who had spoken because the person was hiding in the alley where the light from the lamp didn't reach. But she recognized the voice immediately. She would recognize that voice even if she were in absolute darkness and hadn't had contact with people for a year. That annoying deep voice full of arrogance and excessive self-confidence.
"I told you to stay away from me," Siyoung mumbled without looking at the person. The person with that voice entered the illuminated part of the street with a smirk on their face. Siyoung took a step back when Seojun approached her. She was afraid of him because he had exactly the smile she hated the most, because she didn't know what was going on in his head.
"Both of us know you don't mean that," Seojun said and took a step toward Siyoung. Her fist clenched quickly. She was ready to punch him. She was ready to scream if he tried anything.
"You're cute with your fists clenched, but we both know you won't hit me. You won't do anything to me because deep down inside, you still love me. Deep down inside, you still feel something for me, and you know it," at that moment, Seojun was standing right in front of Siyoung, gazing deeply into her eyes.
Siyoung wanted to say something. She wanted to tell him that it wasn't true. She wanted to tell him that she had lost her love for him the moment he delivered his last kick to her two years ago. That kick had ended their relationship. But she couldn't muster anything. She couldn't even say a word or take a step back. She just stood there and hoped he would leave.
"Jinyoung is just an arrogant idiot who doesn't care about you," Seojun whispered. He lifted her chin with his finger, and before Siyoung could realize anything, he was already kissing her. At that moment, all her senses awakened. She immediately started pushing him away. She started hitting his chest, but he was bigger and stronger. He held onto Siyoung tightly and had no intention of letting go.
"Don't you see she's uncomfortable?" a voice shouted to their left, and at that moment, someone threw Seojun to the ground. Before Siyoung could realize anything, the person grabbed her shoulder and moved her to stand behind them. It was Jinyoung.
"You again? Can't you stay away for once? She was already mine," Seojun hissed as he picked himself up from the ground, where Jinyoung had thrown him.
"Was she? Boy, I don't know what you're on, but Young clearly wants nothing to do with you and wants you to stay away," Jinyoung responded calmly, but Siyoung knew he was infuriated, and that just one wrong word would make him lose his cool.
"That's something you've brainwashed her into. Before she met you, she never had such thoughts," Seojun hissed again. Jinyoung just chuckled at how foolish and childish Seojun sounded.
"There's really something wrong with you," Jinyoung muttered to himself, but Siyoung overheard it and chuckled. He was speaking the truth. Seojun was definitely not okay, and maybe he should undergo some evaluation because if someone like him roamed their country, she was beginning to think that it wasn't her he didn't want to be around.
