Goli's marriage has been scheduled for two months from now and he couldn't wait to celebrate this joyous occasion with all his friends. After sending out the invitations, he eagerly awaited their responses. When Tappu received his invitation, he wasted no time and dialed Goli's number.
Tappu: (grinning) Hey Goli, congratulations yaar, I can't believe it's finally happening.
Goli: (grinning back) Thanks, but sirf congratulations se kaam nahi chaley ga ! It's been a long time coming. I hope you'll be there to celebrate with me.
Tappu: Of course, I'll do my best to make it. But you know, I've got this crazy schedule here in the U.S.
Goli: (playfully) Come on, Tappu, you can't let work get in the way of my big day. It's been five years since you left! You have to be here, aur ager tu nahi aaya toh I might just call off the wedding.
Tappu chuckled, Okay, okay, you win. I'll try my best to be there. Mein nahi chahta ke tu meri wajah se hamesha ke liay single reh jaye.
Goli: (laughs) That's more like it, Tappu. Can't wait to see you yaar !
Meanwhile in Delhi,
Sonu, upon receiving Goli's wedding invitation, couldn't contain her excitement. She immediately called her friend Sarah to share the news.
Sonu: (excitedly) Sarah, you won't believe it! Goli is getting married in two months, and he invited me to all the functions!
Sarah: (enthusiastic) That's fantastic news, Sonu! You must be thrilled.
Sonu: (smiling) Oh, I am! I've decided to take a two-month leave from my university job. I haven't taken any leave in the last three years, so I have plenty of vacation days saved up.
Sarah: (impressed) Two months? That's a long break! But I understand why you'd want to enjoy all the wedding festivities.
Sonu: (grinning) Exactly! Bhut time baad hum sab aik saath honge. And who knows, maybe .......
Sarah: (teasingly) Ah, the infamous Tappu!
Sonu smiled and said : kiya pata wo bhi ay jaye. It's been 5 years since he left.
Sarah: After hearing your excitement, I'm curious to meet him too. Can I come along? I've never met any of your friends or your parents.
Sonu: (enthusiastic) That's a fantastic idea, Sarah! Our students are on a semester break starting tomorrow.
Sarah: I have some vacation days saved up too. Let's draft a leave application tonight and submit it first thing tomorrow morning!
After few minutes:
Sonu: Finally draft ban gaya.
Sarah: Sonu ! aik baat puchoon
Sonu: Haan pucho
Sarah: Teri tappusena mein tere alawa koi larki nahi hai right. Tujhey kabhi aisa feel nahi hua ke kaash koi larki bhi hoti. Akele, 4 larkoon ke beech kabhi bore nahi hui.
Sonu: Well, maine kabhi itna socha hi nahi. Un 4 larkon ne kabhi aisa feel hi nahi kerwaya.
Sarah: Sonu tumhari un sab se dosti kesay hui ? Society mein milay thay ? Tum log aik hi society mein rehte thay na.
Sonu: Hum sab aik hi society mein rehte zaroor thay but dosti wahan nahi hui.
Meri sab se phehlay dosti tappu se hui thi. I still remember, 4rth standard mein thay hum jab phehli bar milay. First day tha 4rth class ka, I was damn nervous. Apni desk pe akeli bethi thi. Phir aik larka mere barabar mein aake betha aur bola, Hi mera naam tipendra hai, sab mujhey tappu bulate hain, tumhara naam kiya hai ? He was the only boy who approached me in the whole class. I replied, I am Sonalika.
Tappu: Hi Sonalika, tum mujhse dosti kero gi?
Sonu: Umm yes !! why not, waise mere dost mujhey Sonu kehte hain tum bhi bol sakte ho.
Tappu: Alright Sonu!
and that's how we started knowing each other baad mein pata chala ke hum aik hi society mein rehte hain. Goli, Gogi aur Pinku, tappu ke dost thay aur with time un sab se meri bhi dosti ho gayi. Tappu aur mein bachpan mein apna her secret aik dosre ke saath share kerte thay.
Sarah : Wow that's so sweet !
Sonu: Likin phir wo bhut door chala gaya mujhse.
Sarah: Sonu! kya 5 saal phehlay kuch hua tha.
Sonu: I don't know exactly but koi baat toh zaroor hui thi. Tappu ki family ne bhi tappu ke U.S jaane ke baad society chord di aur kaheen aur shift ho gaye.
Daya aunty ka behaviour bhi change ho gaya meri family ke saath. Meine bhut baar janne ki koshish ki ke kia baat hai but kuch pata nahi chala.
Sarah: Toh tumne tappu se nahi pucha, shayad wo kuch janta ho iss bare mein.
Sonu: Itna time hi nahi mila ussey puchne ka.
Sarah: Ussey toh India mein bhi achi job offer ho sakti thi phir U.S kyun chala gaya. What was the reason ?
Sonu: "Tina Malhotra" !
