Just the Night before...

A ringtone plays. Just an average ringtone from a phone played at 4:30AM. Clearly, the call was way too early for a reply. A groan was let out under the cocoon of blankets, with a lazy hand reaching out for the phone on the wooden counter. The hand accidentally knocks the phone off the counter to the floor. The voice grumbled once again and gripped the phone with her feet, lifting it off the ground and into her hands. The lazy hand dimmed the illuminating device. The phone stopped ringing.

Then it rang again. Elodie (the bow girl in the episode "Broken Record"), a childhood friend and a huge pillar of the 'More Zazz Advertising' Company was calling. Under the blankets, Wendy answered the phone with a tired, blunt morning tone.

"Elodie, what the heck could possibly be bugging your brain at 4:30 in the morning?" she grumbled.

Elodie, even in the morning, and always seemed so cheery, it was kind of scary. "Hi Wendy!! I'm sooo proud of you getting the assistant coach role in Nakama!"

Wendy's eyes lit up in surprise. "WHAT? Who the heck told you?!"

"Ura Giri. He wanted to get it to the news, stat."

Wendy let out a sigh. "Thanks."
She told that old hag of a man that she wanted to be announced as a part of the team as soon as she set foot in the stadium. However, half of her didn't complain. After all, she was full-on Nakama the time she was accepted to the team. Besides, she didn't take 4 years majoring Kinesiology and playing in her college's womens soccer team for nothing. Wendy added. "But please.. let me sleep. I'm trying to collect enough energy to make it to the Gasshuku Stadium tomorrow."

"Oh that? He moved that to today," Elodie replied.
Wendy was shocked and exasperated. Today?! Either this old hag's memory is blurry, or she is going to have to slap him in the back of the head. Respectfully. Slap him in the back of the head respectfully. "Ugggghhhhhh. I guess I'll be meeting him today."

"That's all! Hope you get a good rest!"

"Thanks. Bye." Wendy ended the call and went back into her cocoon of blankets and rifted back to the sleeping state she was just in.
