Stefano slowly opened his eyes. The bright hospital lights made him squint. He felt a sharp pain in his side. Confused, he realized he was in a hospital bed. Memories of what happened began to come back to him. Amelia was sitting beside him, looking worried. She had been keeping watch over him.
"You're awake," she said softly, her face showing both relief and worry. "You had us really worried, Stefano." Stefano tried to speak but winced in pain. He touched the bandage on his side, feeling sore from where he had been stabbed during his last fight.
