Ruby's only plan was to say about her vision either to James or Lily, but none of them heard her out. She desperately wanted to talk about it. She had already lost her loved ones and she was not ready to repeat the history. The least she could do is warn them, but the Potters never listened to her which annoyed her to the core.

"James, listen to me.. you guys--"

"Just a minute, Ruby. Let me bake some cookies for Harry and then we'll talk" James said as he walked away which Runy to scoff I'm disbelief.

"No, no! This is way more important than baking cookies!"

"I get it, Ruby but not now" he said patiently as Ruby slumped in the couch.

The next try was, Lily.

"Lily, you guys are--"

"Ruby, not now. I want to sleep" Lily said with a yawn as Ruby scoffed.

"This is really important. You and James--"

"Please, Ruby" Lily said with soft eyes as she entered her room to sleep. She felt like pulling her hair out in frustration. How come they are so careless? With this thought, she headed to her room and laid lazily on the bed. Sirius was folding his clothes sincerely, once he saw his wife being sulky, he threw away those folded clothes and laid beside her on the bed.

"What's wrong, love?"

Ruby heaved a sigh as she narrated the whole story. Sirius strongly agreed with her as Ruby's eyes felt teary.

"The least I can do is say the truth and protect them... they're in danger and all that James cares about is baking cookies! This is ridiculous, Sirius!" Ruby exclaimed as Sirius patiently heard her out.

"I don't wanna lose them as well.."

"You won't " Ruby gave him a look as Sirius sighed.

"He knows, Ruba" Ruby's breath hitched as her eyes widened.

"Wha--"

"I told him way before and that's why he's ignoring the topic... be-- because he knew that they're gonna be next " Sirius said as he looked at the white ceiling to stop himself from tearing up.

"When our Tom... " he swallowed his saliva harshly before heaving a sigh. "I told him about your vision and you know what he said?"

"I know, mate... that it's gonna be us next" James said with a said smile as Sirius clenched his fist and looked at James with a glare.

"Then move somewhere! Don't live here!" James chuckled softly as he took a gulp of firewhiskey.

"That would look like 'James Potter had ran away in fear' " James said. "And I don't want that.. It can be like 'James Potter lost his life while trying to protect his family'. I don't wanna be a coward and runaway from that sick fellow"

"He'll kill you, James"

"I'm least bothered about my death, Mate. I know it's gonna be anytime soon but all we can do pretend as if this war doesn't exists" Sirius lowered his head as he felt hot drops of tears on his hand. James noticed it as he kept his hand above Sirius's.

"I'll do anything to protect you, mate" James smiled fondly as he stared at the night sky.

"I know, Padfoot "

Ruby's eyes were filled with tears as she hugged Sirius and buried her face in his chest. Sirius closed his eyes as he caressed her hair smoothly.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Ruby asked with puffy cheeks and red nose.

"I promised him" Sirius replied as Ruby but her lower lip in anger.

"You told me that there should be no secret between us, but you're the one who's hiding the whole time!" Ruby exclaimed as she bet his chest with little force. Sirius remained silent because he knew that she was right.

"Why are you doing this, Sirius? You're acting as if I'm dead! Talk to me, dumbarse! You fucking piece of nasty--" she cursed, beating him again and again as Sirius pulled her in a tight hug which conveyed I'm sorry.

And just like that, the couple drifted to sleep or that's what they thought so.
