Another Shikamaru x Naruto story

Chapter 1: A

Shikamaru and Naruto were laying on the bed of Shikamarus room while listening to music, wondering what they could do. Naruto was thinking about their relationship with eachother, the day before they both confessed.. Were they dating? Were they still friends? Were they just gonna forget about it? Just those thoughts alone Naruto was overwhelming himself, his head was trying to process every noise he could hear. The AC, his breathing, Shikamarus mom lecturing Shikamarus dad, the rain, the music. Shikamaru noticed by this and held Naruto close to him into a hug, trying to break him from his thoughts. "Hm?" Naruto hummed as he blinked his dry eyes from just staring at the ceiling. "Was I overwhelming myself again?" Naruto asked himself. "Looked like it." Shikamaru replied, hugging Naruto. "Wanna just relax by the hill?" Shikamaru asked, loosening his grip. Naruto nodded with anxiety in Shikamarus chest. Shikamaru figured out a way that they could sneak out without having to tell anyone. Shikamaru got up and got a jacket that they could lay in for warmth. Naruto sat up and rubbed one of his eyes with one of his hand. Naruto then stood up and tiredly walked to Shikamaru, practically leaning on him cause he was too tired to even stand. "Love? What's wrong?" Shikamaru asked, turning around. "Tired.. Couldn't sleep..On that mission.." Naruto trailed off. "Let's just teleport there so that way we don't have to walk and we don't have to deal with my parents yelling." Shikamaru replied as Naruto tiredly nodded. They both teleported to the hill and were able to relax. Naruto fell asleep on the jacket Shikamaru had grabbed. Shikamaru just followed Narutos lead and did the same. They fell asleep for an hour but then was woken up by Sakura. Shikamaru woke up first and asked, "Why do you need Naruto again?" Shikamaru said as he sat up. "He's late to the training Kakashi sensei gave us!" Sakura yelled. "Do you ever stop yelling? " Shikamaru groaned. Naruto was starting to wake up from all the yelling but fell back asleep. "Do that again. And you won't live to see another day." Shikamaru glared. Sakura got scared and this time talked and didn't yell. "So, can you wake Naruto up because Kakashi sensei wants him?" "Much better, and yes." Shikamaru replied, turning to Naruto who was peacefully sleeping. "Naruto love." Shikamaru said, putting a hand, slightly shaking Naruto awake. "What?" Naruto replied waking up. "Your sensei wants you." Shikamaru said as Naruto sat up one hand rubbing his eye. "Fine." Naruto said as he stood up. "See you later Shika." Naruto said tiredly walking away. "Later." Shikamaru replied standing up himself to go to his team before Ino yelled at him. After they were both done for training they both met at the hill again. Naruto just flopped on the grass as soon as he got the chance. Shikamaru just say down next to him letting out a slight laugh. Naruto then groaned, face still in the grass "Why did Sasuke have to try and fight me today." Shikamaru just replied casually, "I know how you feel." "Why does my head hurt so much?" Naruto said as he sat up. "Naruto you're bleeding." Shikamaru said, as he went to take a look at it. 'Why can't I just heal it? ' Naruto asked Kurama. "You're too weak to heal it right now because of that dang kid." Kurama gritted. "Can you heal it?" Shikamaru asked. "No, Kurama said I can't because I lost a lot of chakra from training." Naruto replied, almost passing out. Naruto started to pass out which made him lean forward. Shikamaru caught him, "I'm here for you." He said, hoping Naruto could hear that before he passed out. "Time to take you home." Shikamaru said, carrying Naruto on his back.
