"Still, what's the plan for today? *Aaaaaaahaaaa*!" Snowflake asked, yawning. "Giving him a break is good, but there must be something we can do for fun."
"Hmm.." the pups began to think again.
"Anything to give Chase a fun time without being pushy," Ned commented.
"Yeah, definitely something that won't freak him out.." Chester agreed.
"Annnd something that won't hurt him." Marshall added.
"Hmmmm. Pillow wrestling?" Ned thought.
"What?" Rubble wondered in confusion.
"We said safe.." Chess clarified.
"They're only pillows.." Rocky shrugged.
"Right,.. but wrestling?" Chester emphasized.
"You got a better idea?" Skye asked innocently.
"I don't know.." the German Shepherd shrugged.
"Then why not go for it?" the cockapoo wondered.
"Uh,.. cause he wouldn't.." Chester replied certainly.
"Ok.. -how about something else.." Rubble decided. "Maybe something entirely new and different?"
"Well what are we gonna do, throw him in a hamster ball?" Chester wondered.
"Hmmm. That actually sounds like a good idea. You did mention putting him in a rubber room before, but a pup sized hamster ball would be better!.. If we had a rubber ball that big," Snowflake responded with interest before realizing the challenge.
"Does something like that even exist?" Zuma wondered.
"It can, with my Reuse-It truck.." Rocky mentioned. "Come on!"
Then he led the way to the elevator and the garage below.
"So how are we going to make a hamster ball?" Ned asked, slightly confused as they made it down to the garage.
"This.. way," Rocky replied, gazing forth at something in front of them.
XXXX
"Ok Chase, we're almost there.." Skye said, leading the way while the other pups stuck close around the German Shepherd in a tight cluster.
"Wait.. hold on.." Chase stopped suddenly, backing out of the group, Zuma and Rocky at the back allowing him to do so. "This isn't another wacky surprise is it?"
"What? No.." Chester shrugged.. then he paused..
"Ok it is a surprise.. -but!.. but.." he recovered, quickly earning a distasteful look from his brother. "I think this is a surprise you might actually like.. and it's not the 'boo, gotcha!' type of surprise.."
"You better hope so.." Chase warned. "Cause I'm coming after you for saying that if you're wrong.."
"Relax, that's the whole point of all this.. Trust me," Chess continued, standing on his back paws to nudge him forward again. "Everything's gonna fine.."
"Just relax. This is a good surprise," Ned insisted.
"Yeah, because your surprises have been the best!" Snowflake replied sarcastically before rolling her eyes.
"Not from where I'm standing." Chase replied dryly,.. though in more of an uncertain way.
"Then check this out." Rocky said, and when Chase looked up at him, he realized he'd made his way around the group toward something big behind him. And the mixed breed hadn't waited a moment before taking the colored sheet covering the big object and pulled it off to reveal the clear ball underneath.
