A/N: I got the inspiration for this story from "Little Lady of Phantomhive Manor" by @SUFanatic7152 on this site. I'm still fairly new to the BB fandom, but I absolutely love the potential for fics like this!
...
DISCLAIMER: I do not own "Black Butler" or any of its characters, for they rightfully belong to Yana Toboso. What I do own is this story and the plot that it follows.
[NOTES: This story's beginning takes place between the ending of "His Butler, Capricious" and the beginning of "His Butler, Chance Encounter".]
Additionally, I would like to point out that I absolutely will NOT tolerate any SebaCiel/ClaudeLois shipping on my account. I frankly find it repulsive and disgusting that teenagers are being paired with adults. If that's your thing, cool, but please do it somewhere else. I see Sebastian and Ciel's relationship strictly as that of a father and son.
Happy reading!

CIEL REMEMBERS the day, and indeed the very hour, that everything changed for him... That everything changed again, that is.
Several hours earlier, Sebastian had just rescued him from the perverted Viscount Druitt who'd captured him and had been set on selling him in an auction. Now, they were safely back within the walls of the Phantomhive estate, and he was redressed in his night clothes instead of the frilly pink dress he'd been forced to wear. His butler hadn't taken long to prepare him for bed, and within minutes had him washed, clothed, and tucked under the covers.
But destiny is a funny thing. Roughly three hours after Ciel managed to doze off into a light slumber, he suddenly jolted awake and sat upright in his bed. Though he could barely make out the faint whimpering sounds coming from outside, Ciel knew there was something there that wasn't supposed to be.
"Sebastian!" he called for his butler, his posture erect as he turned his head to the right.
"Yes, my Lord?" Sebastian appeared in the doorway with a candelabra. He wasn't surprised to see his young master awake at such an hour. It didn't seem like Ciel had suffered from a nightmare though; he wasn't trembling or hiding under his blankets.
"I heard a noise outside. Go investigate it." the boy commanded sharply, as Sebastian walked over to the window and pushed it open. He looked around for a moment, seeing nothing, and was about to pull back before he noticed a figure crouched beside a basket on the doorstep.
Whatever could that be about?
Just as Sebastian closed the window, Ciel cleared his throat loudly. "Well, what did you see?"
"I believe someone left a sweets basket for you, young Master." Sebastian responded, turning to leave the room. He was nearly out the door when he heard his charge climbing out of bed; he frowned deeply.
"My Lord, whatever are you–"
"Isn't it quite obvious? I'm coming with you." Ciel stepped into his slippers and tugged on his robe.
"I hardly believe that's necessary, sir."
"I don't believe I asked you what was or wasn't necessary. Besides, sweets baskets don't normally whimper."
