A day or two after they moved in Linny had been walking around the house, simply exploring. She found herself in the basement again. She turned on the lights on and looked at all of the mutilated stuffed animals that littered the floor. She walked towards towards one in particular, it was a stuffed lamb was covered in thin sploches of dirt and part of it was bathed in red. She picked it up being careful not to rip the already fraying stitches.
"Go to sleep, Go to sleep, go to sleep my little baby~," she sang quietly to herself while turning it over in her hands a couple times. She sat criss-crossed on the floor, she rocked back and forth a bit along with the song.
"Why aren't you pretty," a feminine voice said behind her. She didn't acknowledge it, to lost in her own little universe as she ran her fingers over the details of the small toy.
The woman walked closer to her and began stroking her long pale blonde waves. She didn't seem notice that any of it was happening.
"Goodness you look like me too, why you could be my child couldn't you?"
"What did you do to my baby," Linny whispered, it was barely audible as the woman continued touching and running her fingers through her hair.
It wasn't until the woman appeared in front of her that she acknowledged her existence. She looked up with her glassy doe eyes.
"Why you're eyes are so unique aren't they, special girl," the woman touched her cheek as she spoke in a soft voice, as if she was speaking to a baby. "I'm Nora Montgomery, hello."
"My name is Linette" the smaller blonde whispered as she looked up at Nora with a blank wide eyed stare.
"Nora don't." It was Tate he walked down the stairs into the basement keeping his eyes trained on the pair. "She has a family, and they don't seem to be leaving any time soon."
"I wasn't going to. But she looks just like me, she could be my baby," she looked up at the perpetual teen while petting Linnys head.
"I told you I would get you one I promise. But you can't hurt her," Tate said grabbing Linny by the arm and pulling her out of the basement.
"Hi Tate."
"Hi Linny, how has your day been, mines been kind of shitty, appearently I'm afraid of rejection, according to your dad." His voice was filled with malice as he walked her back to her bedroom.
She didn't say anything, she just watched as the colors of the stain glass blended together in motion, how the colors mixed but never got diluted by each other some how.
"Why did you get mad at the lady," she asked when they got to her room, behind the door where no one could see them. She didn't remember her name, she had spent the entire interaction on some form of auto pilot, she was just so focused on the lamb, and how every time she moved to examine it her mind would fill with these images, phrases, people, places. Like it was trying to tell her something.
"Nora? I wasn't mad at her I just didn't want her to hurt you. She really wants a kid, and you look so much like her, I didn't want her to try anything." Linny nodded and found a new place of interest. She turned on her ipod and started listening to music, it wasn't really Tates style, it was much more light and whimsical than what he listened to, but he enjoyed the way she twirled around the room, not like a dancer, but almost like a confused child. On her tip toes walking around the room and spinning and humming, flapping her hands wildly.
Tate just watched silently enjoying the show, he found it endlessly amusing. She danced like that for a while till she tripped, scratching herself on some of the metal from her bed frame. Her face was blank when she got back up, but he could see that her eyes were wet and glassy when she looked up at him.
"Here why don't we go down to the kitchen to clean that up." Her grabbed both of her hands to ensure she wouldn't fall when they walked down to the kitchen.
"What are you still doing here, I thought you're therapy ended like 10 minutes ago?" It was Violet, she was getting snacks to take back up to her room.
"I was hanging out with Linny, we were listening to music, but she had a bit of a fall so I'm helping her clean up." Tate could see that Violate was jealous that the tall, hot blonde patient had decided to hang out with her space case of a little sister rather than her. She found it totally mental. "Wheres the first aid kit?"
"In the cabinet," Violet said while glaring slightly at her sister, who was just staring off at nothing in particular. It wasn't fair, Linny was always the favorite out of the two of them, she was the 'baby' of the family, especially after the miscarriage. And now she was getting attention for the cute boy that employs their dad?!
She watched in pure envy at the way Tate grabbed her leg gently and wipes away the blood. How he grabs a bit harder when she flinches away at the alcohol wipe. They way he puts a bandaid on and smiles up at her, and Linny wasn't even smiling back, she was staring at him with a blank look on her face. Violet would have smiled back at him.

Violet was sitting in her room listening to music when Tate came in, he smiled at her.
"Hey what's up?"
"I've just been listening to music and stuff, do you wanna listen with me," Violet asked him with a smile.
"I saw you cutting yourself earlier, thought it would be better not to bother you."
"Oh, well I'm fine, I'm not some kind of depressed mess like everyone thinks I might be."
"Oh no it's fine, I do to sometimes, wanna compare?" He had a joking smirk that made her melt on the inside, so she nodded.
They sat like that for a while, exchanging stories and laughing in that bitter sweet way.
"This one was from after my dad left, and this one-." he abruptly stopped talking when he heard someone open the door. Violet expected it to be one of her parents, but it wasn't, it was Linny. Her eyes were wide and doe like as usual but she looked a bit more frantic than usual.
"What are you doing in here space case," Violet asked slightly raising her voice.
"The boy, um, I wanna talk to him," she said, fiddling with her hands. Tate smirked and got up.
"Hey I'm right here, it alright." He walked over to her and grabbed her elbows. She nodded and seemed to calm down. Violet rolled her eyes and walked up to the two. She was about to say something to Linny but then her father came into the room.
"Hey Violet I wa-," Ben said as he walked into his older daughters room. He felt rage bubbling inside him when he saw one of his patients holding his youngest daughter by the arms. "Tate what are you doing here?"
"We were just listening to music, but then Space cadet had to come in and annoy us," Violet said rolling her eyes.
"Tate you can't be here, you need to go home," Ben said taking hold of his younger daughter.
"Oh come on dad! Really? We were just hanging out," Violet said with a sigh.
"It's fine, I'll go, I get it," Tate said walking towards the door. "What's that thing you said I was afraid of? Rejection?"
(A.n. - I don't know if this is super good but I hope so :D, Had my first day of Highschool classes so I'm a bit exhausted)
