Chapter 2
*Emerald's POV*
"Troublemaker."
I finish the last line of the song 'Troublemaker' by Olly Murs, and grin as I hear the over-excited applause and blush a bit when a few lads wolf-whistle at me.
"Any suggestions? I didn't really come prepared with a setlist!" I say into the microphone.
"'Heart Attack' by Demi Lovato!" I hear a girl shout somewhere to the left of the crowd.
"That sounds good! Heart Attack it is!" The musicians start the music and I sing;
"So I'm putting my defenses up, ,cuz I don't wanna fall in love, if I ever did that, I think I'd have a heart attack!"
The rest of the night flies by like this. I sing songs like; '22' by Taylor Swift, 'Scream' by Usher, 'Dynamite' by Taio Cruz, 'Die Young' by Ke$ha, and 'Single Ladies' by Beyoncé.
The boys who offered me drinks earlier keep staring at me. They look really familiar, though. I just can't put my finger on it. I tell everyone that we will keep going with the live music, but we're taking a ten minute break. The DJ comes out and turns on some music and starts turning the turn tables to the music.
I grab a water bottle and make my way over to Jake. He grins and takes me in an one-armed hug.
"You're killing them, Em!"
"Thanks, Jakey! Hey, wait a minute. Do you know those five boys over there?" I ask. Jake, the social butterfly, would probably know.
"Where? I don't see- HOLY SHIT!" Jake screams.
"What? Who are they?" I ask, egging him on to finish.
"'Who are they?'! Emerald! THEY'RE ONE FUCKING DIRECTION!!!! Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god... Do IT look okay?" Jake starts fangirling and fixing his hair while checking his reflection in a spoon. "Oh, damn, I'm holding a spoon... that'll scare Liam away for sure!" He says, tossing the spoon aside.
"What's all the fuss about? They're just probabaly one of those stuck up boybands that will become full of themselves and split up after a couple of years." I say rolling my eyes.
Before Jake can respond, Lola comes up to me and says;
"Omg! You're a really good singer, after all!" She says smiling her dimples out.
"Thanks, Lola!" I say, giving her a hug.
"Rickey says that he only needs you to do one more song. I think that you should sing 'Rock Me' by One Direction. Again, they'll go crazy!" Lola says, beaming.
"Um, sure, Lola. I guess I should leave them 'wanting more', 'eh?" I joke and wink.
"Exactly." On that note, Lola spins on her heel and goes backstage again.
I turn to say something to Jake, but see that he had left to go try and impress someone in One Direction... Louis, I think? God, can I please have ONE friend who won't embarrass the shit out of me? That's all I ask for.
I sigh and sit down on a nearby stool.
After a couple minutes of watching drunken people dance *cough* grind *cough* with others on the dance floor, I feel an arm wrap around my waist.
"Are you sure you aren't rethinking that drink, love?" I hear a british accent say. I look up and see the same green eyes staring back into my hazel ones.
"Don't call me love, get your drunken paws off of me, and the anwer is still no, Styles." I retort, taking his hands off me.
"Feisty one, aren't you?" Harry Styles whispers into my ear. He breaths down my neck, and his alcohol-tainted breths smells comepletly revolting.
I smile up at him before slapping his cheek.
"I guess you could say that."
I smirk as he shrieks and I make my way backstage again.
But one thing I realise, is that I probably only left him wanting more.
