Barto had invited Nico over for dinner at his grand mansion, and he had a grand plan in mind. He was determined to set the seed for Nico to marry his sister, Malvina, and secure the inheritance for his own sake. Barto had put on his best act, pretending to be the doting and accomplished older brother.
"Welcome, Doctor Bauer!" Barto greeted Nico at the door, a subtle smile on his face. "I'm delighted you could join us."
Nico raised an eyebrow at Barto's formal address but nodded politely. "Thank you for the invitation, Barto."
As they entered the lavishly decorated dining room, Barto couldn't resist the urge to boast about his achievements. "You know, Doctor Bauer, I've been quite involved with charitable foundations lately," he began, pouring himself a glass of wine. "I even founded one of my own—a foundation for underprivileged children. It's my way of giving back to the community che."
Nico listened attentively, impressed by Barto's apparent dedication to philanthropy. "That's commendable, Barto. Helping children in need is a noble very cause."
Barto chuckled inwardly. His plan was working perfectly. "Yes, well, I believe in making a difference in the world how ever much i can," he replied humbly, though his ego was anything but modest.
Throughout the evening, Barto played up his achievements, presenting himself as a successful and caring individual. He constantly referred to Nico as "Doctor Bauer," emphasizing Nico's academic accomplishments. It was all part of his scheme to create an image of respectability and sophistication.
As they dined on gourmet dishes, Barto subtly steered the conversation towards relationships and marriage. "Doctor Bauer, you must know how important family is," he said, glancing at Malvina who just eneter the gran dining room with smile. "Malvina deserves a partner who can provide her with the life she deserves."
Nico, ever the gentleman, nodded in agreement. "Of course, family is important. And Malvina is a lovely woman."
Barto's eyes gleamed with satisfaction. He had successfully planted the idea in Nico's mind. "I'm glad you think so, Doctor Bauer. You and Malvina would make a formidable couple, don't you think?"
Nico couldn't help but feel the pressure mounting. He didn't want to be rude, but he also didn't want to commit to something he wasn't sure about. "Well, Barto, these things are complicated. It's not just a decision to be made lightly."
Barto, however, was not one to give up easily. He continued to play the gracious host, showering Nico with compliments and trying to create an atmosphere conducive to romance. All the while, he was working behind the scenes to manipulate the situation and ensure that Malvina and Nico's union would result in the coveted inheritance.
