The Hunters (On-Hold)

Vampire Hunting

After Teefa and I had checked each others hair and Jordan had given her a lecture on being safe - which she rolled her eyes at - we headed into the nearest nightclub, The Frame. It was standard precaution that we remain in each others sights at all times, we have to look out for one another or else someone gets hurt. We aren't invincible. Even with our powers we can still die.

I nodded at them both, and head out on the dance floor, trying to act like a normal teenager. I love going hunting, it lets me get a feel for the outside world. You don't really interact with many people when you live in the middle of nowhere.

I scan the crowds, looking for my first victim - er I mean, vampire...

There, a tall brown haired teenage boy, was trying to coax a girl into dancing with him. I lock eyes with Teefa and send her a message through our mind link. Our mind link only ever activates when we go hunting, because that's the only time we need it.

#"Found one," I say. #

# "Got it, we'll cover you," Teefa replies. I saw her and Jordan just casually blending in, dancing to the beat and laughing. #

I walk over to the pale creature in front of me, and willed myself not to cringe, "Hey baby, how's it going?" I said faking excitement, throwing my arms around his neck, I winced at how cold he was, "Ooh baby your so cold, want me to warm you up," I whispered seductively, rubbing myself up against him.

He buries his head into my neck and I felt his teeth graze my skin. This was always the dangerous part, he wouldn't bite me in front of a small crowd, but it was still scary.

"Oh yeah, sweet thing," he moaned, the vampire grabbed my waist and pulled me against him, "Why don't we go outside?"

Ew. Disgusting. I can't stand being this close to him.

"Sure baby," I replied innocently. He began to lead me away and as I passed Teefa I winked at her.

We exited through a back door and as soon as we were out, he pressed me up against the stone wall, making sure every part of his cold body was touching mine.

"My my my, you certainly are a sexy one," he felt me up and I shivered in disgust, he mistook it for pleasure and pressed his icy lips to mine.

Oh gross. I can't take this. I shove him and he stumbles back, "Ew, man, you think I'd go for a pale bloodsucker like you? Yuck!"

Realization dawned on his face, "Hunter," he spat.

I curtsied for him, "Actually I'm THE Hunter. You are standing in the presence of Skyler Fawn,"

He gasped. I have the most kills ever to be recorded when it came to vampires and demons. So yeah, he should be shaking in his boots right about now. Which he is.

I smirked at him and pretended to inspect my fingernails. He took this opportunity to try and attack me. Silly leech. Did he really think I was that stupid?

While still pretending to inspect my nails, I flicked my other hand, and it raised a wall of stone just in front of me. His momentum propelled him straight into the wall. I heard a sickening crunch. Sighing, i walked around to the other side of the wall, he was lying unconscious on the dirty floor.

"Oi, wake up!" I said, grabbing him by the air and lifting him up against the bricks.

The vamp blearily opened his eyes, exposing the fear within them, "You won't get away with this, the others will look for me,"

I yawned in his face, "You know, all of you leeches tell me that, right?" I replied skeptically.

"Ha! This time is different," he spat in my face.

"Oh hell to the NO. You did NOT just do that!" I glared at him and got my lighter out of purse. As I flicked it and the little flame appeared, he hissed at me, "yeah, that's right, exactly what I thought. Shut it,"

He glared at me and I knocked his head against the wall again. Hard.

"Oh Chika just kill him already," a bored looking Teefa rounded the corner and placed a hand on her hip.

"But you know how I love to play with them," I pouted at her.

"What? Please don't kill me!" The vamp screeched.

"WOULD YOU SHUT UP!" I yelled at him. He opened his mouth to protest but I raised an eyebrow at him and he quickly shut it.

Now, as you've probably guessed, I am extremely playful (not to mention ruthless) when it comes to my job, I'm also very good at it. So me being me, I pecked him on the cheek and and raised my lighter.

"Bye," I whispered evilly, setting him alight.

Deafening screams filled the still night air. The vampire thrashed around, trying desperately to put the fire out. Slowly he began to incinerate into ash.

"God Skyler, you think you could have staked him BEFORE you set him on fire?" Teefa complained, taking her hands away from her ears.

I shrugged at her, "I like to watch them squeal,"

"You're weird, sometimes I think that YOU should have been the fire Elemental, you pyromaniac,"

I pulled a face at her, "deal with it," Looking past her, I noticed someone was missing, "hey where's Jordan?"

"Taking care of a succubus," she yawned, "he said he'd meet us at macca's, I could really go a burger right now," right on cue, I heard her stomach rumble, reminding us that because of our impromptu mission, we missed dinner.

"Alright, lets go," we exited the alleyway and she told me all about her vampire. Creepy dude.

"So how'd you - " I cut off my sentence and abruptly stopped in the middle of the footpath. An incredibly HOT teenage boy was walking down the path towards us.

"Sky? Skyler? Anyone in there?" Teefa waved her hand in front of my face, and I shook myself out of my stupour.

"Um, Teefa, you mind, giving me a minute? I'll meet you there," she opened her mouth to protest but then saw what I was looking at.

"ah, ok, see ya," she gave me a hug and whispered in my ear, "good luck," then she turned around and walked off.

Only one word was swimming around my head in that moment. Mate.
