I am Valerie Elena Knight, the richest and most successful businesswoman. I love my job, the creative skills, looking at new concepts and ideas, and exploring new fabrics and styles. I forgot to tell you that I own my fashion company; we mass-produce clothing for students and people who don't have a steep budget. We also have premium boutiques all across the globe that offer stunning and exclusive pieces for clients with deep pockets. I recently turned twenty-five and was nominated for the title of the best businesswoman under 30. My company is worth 1.5 billion dollars, and I recently surpassed my dad in the top business rankings. My dad was super proud of me. My parents have been a constant source of inspiration, strength, and motivation. My dad, Alexander Knight, has a car business. He supplies the best and rarest cars all across the globe and owns the most impressive car collection. My mom, Alaina Knight, was a stunning actress and model in her time. She received numerous awards and accolades for her work, and she even directed and produced a movie. My parents have the cutest love story; they met during a ball where my mom was the brand model for a company product. It was love at first sight for my dad; he was completely captivated by my mom. My dad literally slid into my mom's DMs for a date, and after a month of pestering, my mom finally agreed. Over time, they both fell in love.

I crossed paths with Christian at a friend's wedding, and our connection was immediate. Initially friends, our bond deepened, leading to him finally persuading me to go on a date. Christian, an orphan working for Times Magazine, recently had his work showcased on a billboard, filling me with pride as his girlfriend. Despite my parents not fully endorsing him, they maintain a civil demeanor for my sake.

Today marks our one-year anniversary, and I'm organizing a romantic week-long getaway to Rome. Swiftly wrapping up my work, I'm preparing to surprise him. My workplace, located on the top floor, features glass walls, oak-polished furniture, and lofty ceilings, creating an ideal setting for productivity.

Taking my private lift to reach the car park, I find that my assistant and friend is on a week-long holiday due to her mother's hospitalization and health complications. I instructed her to inform me if she needs any assistance. Settling into my Audi R8, a gift from my dad when I started my business, I enjoy driving myself. I quickly reach my apartment in a posh corner of a gated community.

Exiting my car, I open the apartment door with my key and am greeted by an unexpected noise. While I initially fear a break-in, the tight security makes it seem unlikely. Intrigued and concerned, I head towards the source of the sound in my apartment, and upon slightly opening the door, my heart shatters at the sight of my friend and assistant Stella with my boyfriend Christian. I stand there unnoticed as tears stream down my face in disbelief.

Overhearing their conversation, Christian expresses disdain for me, referring to me as a spoiled rich brat who incessantly talks about her business and wealth. Stella agrees, admitting to pretending to like me while harboring resentment. They discuss their plan to transfer my assets to their overseas accounts for a life of wealth and happiness together.

Unable to bear the betrayal, I quietly retreat before they notice my presence, leaving my emotions in turmoil.
