April 11, 1993

The first eleven months of fatherhood flew by quickly, although sometimes it felt like the days were becoming twice as long. The only thing that had kept Tony from completely falling apart was Rhodes. He would come over every couple of days to let him get some sleep or take a shower. Today was a special day - it was Alex's first Easter. It wasn't just special because of the holiday though. Easter had been Alexis' favourite holiday, and Tony wanted to make it special for his daughter.

Tony decided to go all out for the occasion. He had bought an adorable bunny onesie for Alex to wear and a cake in the shape of a carrot. Rhodes had informed Tony that he had a big surprise for Alex, but Tony wasn't sure what it was.

Tony was standing on a ladder, attempting to hang a "Happy Easter!" sign when cries emerged from the baby monitor on the table below him. He pinned the sign in place and headed up to Alex's nursery. The walls were painted a soft shade of green, and small blooming flowers were painted around the baseboards.

Alex's cries stopped as Tony approached the crib. He picked her up and changed her into the onesie he had bought. She was the cutest little thing he had ever seen. The doorbell rang, and Jarvis shouted to Tony that Rhodes had arrived. Although Jarvis no longer worked for the Stark family, he still came around often to check up on Tony and Alex.

When Tony reached the bottom of the stairs, he was shocked to see Jarvis standing next to an extremely large bunny. The bunny in question was, of course, Rhodes. "Surprise! Happy Easter, bud," Rhodes said. Tony was confused and asked why Rhodes was dressed as a furry. Rhodes stuttered and placed his hands (or in this case, paws) on his hips. "What! I'm not a furry, I'm the Easter Bunny! Come on, man." Tony laughed and sauntered over to the pair.

Alex looked up at Rhodes confused. She, of course, didn't know it was him and immediately began to cry. Tony calmed her softly and Rhodes removed the bunny costume. Tony handed Alex to Jarvis while he went to the kitchen to get the cake. Alex tugged at Jarvis' suit and babbled jumbled words at him. Tony stepped back into the living room and set the cake down on the table in front of the couch. "Okay, kiddo, you ready for this?" Alex babbled in response, and Tony took that as a yes.

Taking her from Jarvis' hold, he set her in the high chair and buckled her in. "Jarvis, you're on camera duty, cool? Don't wanna forget this." Tony would always remember Alex's first Easter. The most memorable part was when she took a handful of cake and smushed it into his face.
