"I suppose you're both hungry huh? We'll grab quick bite at the rest stop ahead." Makima said while looking at you both before turning her attention to denji who started to talk "no food for me, I'm broker than broke." You looked at the male with sad eyes before letting out some sad hums. Denji raised an eyebrow in confusion.

Makima chuckles, "I guess it wouldn't hurt to Y/n chan/San, get whatever your hungry for and don't worry about the cost, it's my treat." Denji perked up once again at the mention of free food "really?" You then pulled softly on Makima's sleeve making her give you a smile "that's what I'm about to do Y/n-San/Chan."

Denji watched in confusion "you can understand him?" Makima took off her jacket, "of course I can, wear this so you don't standout." She then held it towards him, "take it."

'People always called me dirty and smelly..and just straight up avoided me, nobody ever acts this nice to me..especially when they don't look half as good as them. 'The blonde thought as he looked towards the two in the car, the redhead staring out the window while the (h/c) haired male was sleeping.

His gaze lingered on you for a bit before a blush coated his cheeks 'I think I'm in love!..but, with a guy and a girl!?

After a while you all arrived at a near by place to stop by, you were then woken up by Makima, she faced you with a soft smile as she spoke in a soft voice, "wake up sweetie, we're about to get a quick bite, wanna come?" You of course couldn't refuse so you nodded happily and rubbed your eyes, while doing so the other two watched you in awe of your beauty.

'He's..so cute!' Denji thought as he watched you take Makima's hand as she guided you out the car. Denji pouted a bit while then looking out the window seeing this go down, "I wish I could hold his hand.' He thought getting out the car.

"Um I'll take some Udon and a sausage on a stick!" He exclaimed while turning to Makima "is that cool?" He asked her causing her to smile and answer "very cool." Meanwhile You stood next to her, holding her hand as you looked around like a lost pup as Makima smiled seeing this before ordering food for herself. You looked at the blonde male who was already looking at you. You blinked at him before giving your famous closed eyed smile.

Denji's expression showed a look of surprise before he smiled back happily with a faint blush on his face, but it went away when he fell forward unexpectedly, you quickly grew in size as then you caught him on your chest,  Makima placed her hand on the boys head while looking down on him. "are you okay? Can you stand up?" She asked secretly a bit annoyed at the close proximity between you and him with the display of touch no less.

Denji slightly moved closer to you, a light blush appeared on his face while incoherently mumbling a few things under his breath. He was soon interrupted by a force pushing him back up that soon got him standing. "Denji?" Makima called out as then was back to holding your hand and watched as the blonde looked around confused "I'm sorry those creeps weren't the only ones my chainsaws tore thorough I guess I'm low on blood as I am on dough." He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head.

Makima stared at him with almost a blank look "just how did your body evolve into a human weapon?" She questioned, rubbing her thumb on your hand.
Denji smiled wistfully as he slightly looked down "I adopted a pet devil, the little guy that replaced my heart." He answered sadly thinking of his only friend the one who was always there with him. "I don't mean it in a metaphorical way but, he really is inside of my heart right now..he gave up his life so I could keep mine." He sighed sadly.

You let go of Makima's hand and held Denji's while letting out another series of hums as you closed your eyes as you brought his hand close to your face, Denji, still not knowing what you meant looked to Makima for help who just smiled. "she saying that you and Porchita will always be together and that she'll be your new friend."

Denji smiled sadly and held your hands with both of his and leaned his head against your hands he then spoke softly "thank you." You hummed happily in response.

Makima placed her arms behind her back and gripped her hands together as she gave a fake smile
"Y/n-San is kinda right, historically speaking, a devil taking the place of a humans vital organ has very few presidents." Denji lifted his head up as he listened to the female speaking.

Makima held out her hand, making you remove yours from Denji and holding hers instead while she walked away while continuing her explanation "so few in fact that it doesn't even have a name, thoughtfully so, its rare, but I believe you." Denji perked up at that and was more surprised when you nodded in agreement, showing your support.

Makima then turned around while still holding your hand. "you see, we have noses that can detect things that most can't, so we know you aren't lying." She booped your nose making you hum giggle with closed eyes. Denji gasped at that.

Makima continued to speak. "you're best friend is still alive inside of you, both in a figurative and a literal sense, your body is emitting two smells, one human, yet one devil."

Denji smiled while he touches the string attached to his chest once more "yeah? That's awesome." He then started to become drowsy as he swayed a bit "that's such a relief-" the last thing he seen was worried glowing (e/c) eyes and a slightly surprised Makima, then his vision went black.

moments later, he opened his eyes to see two pair of eyes staring back at him glowing lightly (e/c) eyes and yellow piercing ones. The male then shot up while speaking "where's the Udon!?" You jumped back and started to hum a bit worried.

The male looked around frantically before settling his eyes on the food "can I please dig in?" He asked the redhead who smiled and placed her hand on you're head "you may, after apologizing for scaring him." Denji's face turned from shock to guilt as he apologizes "I'm sorry for scaring you..can you forgive me?"
He reached out his hand which you happily accepted while humming happily making the males eyes light up "thank you!"

His attention was taken away from you when
Makima spoke "I have to ask though, think your really up to it?" You removed your hand from his before laying down and taking a nap. Denji looked at Makima before answering "of course I-" he paused for a moment before continuing "I'm gonna need help."

Walking behind Makima hand in hand, you stopped and looked at the male who was staggering behind like a zombie, Makima noticing you stopping looked back at the male as well "come on Denji, we're coming in here." You were both in front of a huge building while she then continued "This building is the Tokyo HQ for devil hunters."

You all walked into the building as Makima explained everything to Denji. "including civilians, there are over thousands of devil hunters defending the city, they are known as the public safety operatives, they have the best benefit package by far." She led you both into an elevator that you both soon walk into, "all the pay time off is pretty amazing." The elevator then closed, slowly going up into the building further.

While the elevator was going up, you leaned against the blonde male who stared at you with tinted cheeks.

Denji's Pov:

Seeing the male lean on me, my cheeks began to heat up a bit while I think to myself. 'I know Makima's type is me..which I don't mind but, I wonder what his is..I hope it's me as well, I wouldn't mind working with them both.' He thought slowly placing his hand on your head slightly gushing in awe when you push your head against his hand 'he's so cute! I hope if we work together we'll get together..'
