CHAPTER TWO

Benedict was escorted by a guard to his new residence and was left to settle in on his own. He was given a key by the Hokage to access his new home, which he used to unlock the door and enter. Once inside, he secured the door and began to explore his new living space. Benedict was disappointed to find an empty fridge, so he decided to venture out to buy some necessities such as food, drinks, clothes, and decorations. However, he was hesitant to ask for directions as he was unfamiliar with the village's layout. As he pondered his next move, a sudden voice of a young boy caught him off guard.

Ben was startled by the sound of a familiar voice calling out to him. Turning around, he was surprised to see Naruto Uzumaki, a well-known figure in the Hidden Leaf village. Despite his popularity, Naruto seemed to be neglected by most of the villagers, except Ichiraku Ramen. As he approached Ben, Naruto avoided making eye contact and politely asked, "Excuse me, are you lost?"

Ben reached for his trusty phone which held the key to his language barrier. With the translation app at his disposal, he confidently typed out his message to Naruto, requesting guidance to the nearest grocery store, clothes shop, and furniture store. He showed the message to Naruto, who appeared to understand his request with ease. Ben then opened the microphone function, eagerly anticipating Naruto's response.

Ben's face lit up with elation when Naruto extended a helping hand. Naruto, with a beaming grin, confidently introduced himself as Naruto Uzumaki, an individual whose ultimate aspiration was to become Hokage. Although Ben was taken aback by Naruto's booming voice at first, he gradually grew accustomed to it and found himself at ease in his presence.

''Greetings Naruto, My name is Benedict Willer. You may refer to me as Ben. I am pleased to make your acquaintance. I hold a strong conviction that you possess remarkable qualities that will enable you to excel as the esteemed Hokage.'' Ben gave him a brilliant smile.

Naruto blinks twice, repeating what you said. He can't believe that he believes you. Nobody trusts him when he says he'll become the Hokage. Naruto's eyes water as Ben freezes and panics. He wipes his tears and hugs Ben, who's surprised but manages to balance.

"No one has ever said that to me before. Thank you, Ben, for believing in me," Naruto said, smiling with tears in his eyes.

Naruto's heart filled with joy upon hearing Ben's kind words. Naruto had been feeling disheartened lately due to the scepticism of others regarding his dream of becoming the Hokage. However, Ben's unwavering support and encouragement had a profound impact on Naruto, reminding him of the importance of pursuing his aspirations.

Following their embrace, Naruto and Ben separated from one another. Naruto's expression appeared to be somewhat anxious as he gave Ben a bashful smile and began to rub the back of his neck sheepishly. Naruto seemed to feel a sense of embarrassment, likely because he had just cried on Ben's clothing.

"I'm sorry I cried on your clothes," Naruto stutters while looking at the ground. "It's okay, Naruto. I don't mind at all. Are you going to show me around this place?" the message on the phone screen made Naruto realize.

"I apologize for my behaviour," Naruto said, lowering his head in a respectful bow. Ben couldn't help but chuckle at the young ninja's actions, appreciating his humility and willingness to take responsibility for any misunderstandings.

Naruto found himself flushing deeper, his cheeks warm under Ben's amused gaze. He couldn't help but feel a mixture of embarrassment and delight at the sound of Ben's light chuckles. Lately, Naruto had been covertly observing Ben's reflection when he thought he wasn't looking. Ben had short, dark, curly locks that contrasted sharply with his bright blue eyes and smooth, ivory skin. Standing at 5'4, he was also taller than Naruto, who couldn't help but feel a little envious of his friend's height. Despite being a heartthrob among the girls, Ben was always polite and kind to everyone, which only made Naruto admire him even more. Whenever their eyes met, Naruto would quickly avert his gaze, unable to hold Ben's piercing stare for long.

"Would you be willing to accompany me on this journey?" Naruto asks, his cheeks flushing with a tinge of embarrassment.

"Certainly, my dear friends. It would be my pleasure to follow your lead," replied Ben in his distinct British accent, exuding politeness and grace.

Although Naruto couldn't comprehend the specific language spoken by his new acquaintance, he was able to catch the part about establishing a friendship. Without hesitation, Naruto willingly offered his assistance by guiding his companion to the nearby grocery store, clothing shop, and furniture store. Additionally, he went above and beyond by assisting him in carrying his purchases, making sure that his new friend felt welcome and comfortable in their newly formed friendship.
