"A beautiful day isn't it general?" Wondered aloud the immortal, each step of his, echoing on the tiled floor. "Indeed sir", replied the general. "And the surveillance of the boy?"
Not an ounce of emotion, even for this very interesting topic. This surprised even him, for all the years he had been with the immortal; every single decision, calculated, executed with extreme precision. He made no mistakes. Emotion was something he lost when he was still mortal. This was ironic to the general. How can a man with no emotion want to end the world? For a world, he helped shape. Numbing these thoughts, he replied. "All up and running, we have understood a great deal already. He has it within him. Your intuition was correct"
The immortal gave himself a satisfactory smile. "If he hadn't tripped our sensors right in front us, we would never have known". The general seemed perturbed by the thought, "how is that possible? The prophecy" . "The prophecy was a lie general, isn't it clear? Our ancients had a sense of humour" "That's a shock in and of itself," replied the general. "His readings were off the charts, we should get to him quickly, should something trigger his changes". A slight nod was the only sign that the immortal agreed. "That is where you come" "I'll make sure he doesn't do anything volatile sir" Nothing is left for mere chance in the immortals plan. "The op is already underway sir" "very good" No changes on his still face, it took the general a long time to get used to this form of approval.
"General" He was looking right at the general, and a flicker of emotion passed through him, the general kept this in his mind. "Why aren't you stopping me? Here I am planning on taking away humanity". This time it was the generals turn to smile, "humanity is already in a downward spiral. We're just giving it a stronger push is all" . He seemed satisfied with the answer the general gave. The general left, his thoughts already on something vital for his plans.
After eons of planning. The immortals work is almost at an end, everything he set into motion has come to this, the epitome of plans. The boy is the key. The one thing that could change everything. There is no turning back now this is his retribution. Nothing will come his way, nothing has for all his years, and nothing shall. The immortal is finally content.
His laptop beeps; it is the final reports from his research.
You do not become and immortal and not dip your hands into the things humankind thinks only gods can accomplish. The immortal was made into who he is by a curse. now, even humans can become immortal. In simple terms, the junk DNA in the human body is triggered using the quantum field. They can then be used for various uses, from instant regeneration to active brain growth on adults. The general and his agent are a prime example of this. The boy is not an ordinary human, he has powers beyond comprehension, the immortal needs him to use the powers of the ancients,
The immortal once had a name, a life. Now he is a lifeless organism with a death wish.
