Kokichi was in school, a hand on his cheek as his glowing purple eyes stared out the window, seemingly bored. It was another boring day in school. He was sat in the back, near the window. He let out a deep sigh, eyes half-lidded and eyebrows furrowed.

"Morning, class!" Mrs. Yukizome spoke out loudly, a bright smile on her face as her eyes were closed. The students stood up, including Kokichi, and gave her a greeting. "Morning, Mrs. Yukizome." They said, and sat back down after. Mrs. Yukizome stood in front of him, eyeing them all.

"We have a new student joining us today!" Mrs. Yukizome announced. Kokichi looked up at the teacher as soon as she said that. A new student? Finally, something new. He gave the teacher all his attention, crossing his arms. He was amused. The students around him began to chatter loudly, also excited.

"Now, now, class!" Mrs. Yukizome clapped her hands together, trying to get their attention. Once she noticed everyone was looking at her, she clasped her hands together. She opened her mouth to speak, but as soon as she did that, the door to the classroom opened.

A male was shown, a hat on his head, navy blue hair that reached to his neck, golden piercing eyes... Kokichi had an interest towards the boy. "...Is this class-" He was immediately cut off, "Oh, yes, yes! Come in!" Mrs. Yukizome grinned, as the students immediately went silent.

"Now, please introduce yourself!" She stood beside him, hands behind her back as she looked at with a smile. The male let out a small, quiet sigh, his hat covering one of his eyes. "I'm Shuichi Saihara." He introduced himself, his soft voice being heard. Kokichi felt his heart flutter.

The class broke out into loud chatter once more, some asking him questions. Kokichi looked at his face, seeing how nervous and uncomfortable he was. Shuichi looked down, fiddling with his tie. As soon as Shuichi looked up, he made eye contact with Kokichi.

Kokichi's eyes slightly widened as Shuichi looked at him, causing him to quickly turn his head away from Shuichi, continuing to look outside the window. Shuichi chuckled quietly. "So, Shuichi, you can sit next tooo..." Mrs. Yukizome trailed off. Some of the students tried to get Shuichi's attention, trying to make him sit next to them.

But Shuichi didn't want to sit next to them. He wanted to sit next to someone else. He tilted his head down, making his way to the back of class, where he sat down next to Kokichi. Kokichi jumped slightly, looking at Shuichi once more. Shuichi looked at him as well, gently smiling.

"Well then, class! Let us continue where we last left off, hm?" Mrs. Yukizome smiled softly, turning around as she grabbed a chalk and began to write on the board. Kokichi looked down at his lap, clenching his fists tightly, gripping onto his pants. "Hey, you alright?" Shuichi whispered to the boy next to him.

Kokichi jumped once more, looking at Shuichi as he nodded. "Y-Yeah... I'm fine." He muttered. Shuichi nodded as well as he turned his attention back to the board. A few minutes past by, and Kokichi finally got the courage to ask him a question. "Hey...uhm- why did you decide to sit next to me...?" Kokichi whispered.

"Well, why not? You looked interesting, and you weren't one of the people that was trying to pressure me into sitting next to them..." Shuichi grabbed the brim of his hat, pulling it down slightly, a smile was still on his face. "That's why." He chuckled.
