A sudden knock echoed from the other side of the door.
"M-Miss Judith, it's been a few minutes since dinner was prepared. The Master is wondering if you're coming down to eat," a timid woman's voice called through the door, interrupting Judith's wandering thoughts.
Dinner already? Judith glanced out the window. So, I transmigrated just before nightfall.
"I'll be down in a minute!" Judith responded, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside.
"Okay, Miss. I'll tell the Master," the woman replied before her footsteps shuffled away from the door.
Judith sighed deeply, steeling herself for what was to come. "Alright, time to meet the family."

Laughter filled the air as Judith descended the grand staircase, the sound growing louder as she approached the dining area. From the doorway, she saw the dining table, where four people sat enjoying their meal.
"I'm so proud of my darling Verona, starting her first year of university!" The older woman at the table beamed, her arm draped affectionately around the shoulders of the young woman beside her. "I just know you'll bring in high honors like you did when you graduated high school!"
The young woman blushed, chuckling in embarrassment. "Oh, Mom, stop it! College is different from high school. Who knows if I'll graduate with honors again?"
"You shouldn't doubt yourself, Verona," said a young man sitting across from them. "You're dedicated and hardworking. You care about your studies too much to do anything less than excel..."
He paused, his voice turning sharp. "Unlike a certain someone."
"I agree with Damien. You'll do well, Verona," the older man at the head of the table added, his voice calm and authoritative.
He sipped his drink, observing the lively conversation with a reserved expression. But when Judith stepped off the last stair and into the room, his sharp eyes flicked in her direction, catching her movement.
"You're late," he said, his tone cold and unwelcoming.
The room fell silent. The cheerful chatter died as the rest of the Wellester family turned to look at Judith.
The younger woman—Verona, Judith realized—looked at her with mild surprise, while the older woman and the young man—Elana and Damien—regarded her with open contempt.
"I suppose I am," Judith replied, her voice equally cold, meeting her father's gaze without flinching. "But I'm here now."
Arthur Wellester, the patriarch, was a handsome man, his salt-and-pepper hair framing a face that commanded respect, his gray eyes piercing and stern. Judith recognized him immediately as her father.
Elana Wellester, her mother, was stunning, with cascading waves of auburn hair and striking blue eyes that still held a trace of youthfulness despite her age.
Damien, her older brother, was a mirror image of their father in his younger years—dark hair, gray eyes, and a presence that demanded attention.
Finally, there was Verona, the golden child, the beloved daughter. She had inherited their mother's auburn hair and their father's gray eyes, her beauty undeniable, her presence luminous.
Judith—no, the soul within Judith Wellester—had finally met the family she was now a part of.
