Kenma was out of it during practice.

His playing was lifeless, he acted like a robot and moved like a sloth, and Kuroo has had enough of it.

"Bro, play seriously for sakes. What's up with you?" Kuroo confronted the blonde boy during a small break. Kenma was slumped on the bench, emphasizing his unmotivated state.

Kuroo's face displayed irritation before looking at the usually occupied bench, and that's when Kuroo finally came to a realization.

"You sad [Name] ain't here, huh?" Kuroo held back a snicker as his signature smirk decorated his handsome face.

Kenma didn't pay attention to Kuroo, he was more focused on thinking about the conversation he and [Name] had before class ended.

"Sorry Kenma! I'm meeting with my science project group today to discuss on our assignment." The girl spoke apologetically when the boy offered to walk home with her after his practice as per usual, only to be declined.

Kenma visibly frowned at this.

"Can't you just walk with me after you've finished?" The boy eagerly asked, maybe he can't be with her during his practice but atleast they'll have time together when they walk home.

[Name] sent him an apologetic look. "Sorry, Kenma.. I'll be finishing a bit later after your practice so I'll be walking with my group."

"Oh.. uh okay." Kenma spoke, not even attempting to hide the disappointment in his voice as the hands that lightly held the straps of his bag tightened and shook subtly.

[Name] caught on to his disappointed tone. "I promise when we've finished the assignment we can walk home together again!" She spoke cheerfully in hopes of lifting the boy's spirit.

A stifling silence engulfed the atmosphere before Kenma spoke again.

"...How long do you think it will be until then?" He asked.

She was taken aback from the question before taking a minute to ponder.

"Hmm.. maybe over a week? So by the week after next week I suppose." She spoke truthfully.

'that's too long...'

"Ah.. that's.. fine I guess, if you finish early just tell me, okay?" The boy faced away from her to try and stop his quickening heart at the thought of being apart from the girl for that long.

Without another word, he left the classroom, leaving the girl to her lonesome. [Name] felt slightly hurt by it but opted to just brush it off.

Kenma walked through the halls of the school with gritted teeth as his nails dug into the leather of his bag as he tried his best to calm his emotions down.

He took steady breaths with each step he took that led him closer to the volleyball gym.

'It's okay.. just one week..'

"...just one week.."

"Hah?!" Kuroo dragged out as he looked at his best friend.

"Kenma, are you okay? Or are you going crazy? Do you know you're going crazy Kenma?" Kuroo spoke, quite taken aback that his friend is starting to mutter utter nonsense.

"Wh- huh?" Fortunately, Kenma finally snapped out of his thoughts and was met by a worried Kuroo.

"What?" The blonde asked, seeing the weird expression as his eyebrows scrunched up.

"Dude you we're totally losing it just now, I thought I needed to get you a straitjacket." The raven haired put a hand on his hip as he watched his friend's expression turn sour.
