The Perfect Puppet

Chapter 1:

Mr. Dorlaine thought his life was complete and wonderful, but after hearing the death of his daughter Evelyn everything changed. He wasn't smiling anymore, he wasn't cheerful and happy anymore. Everything changed when his little girl disappeared. The show Welcome Home was not getting more famous after her death. Why must the world be so cruel for Mr. Dorlaine? A hand gently touched Mr. Dorlaine shoulder as he turned around and noticed Wally with a worried look.

"I-I heard about your daughter I-I'm sorry Mr. Dorlaine" said Wally sounding mournful. Mr. Dorlaine sighed as he looked down and stared at a photo of him and his daughter smiling.

"She didn't deserved this...my baby girl...I just missed her so much..." said Mr. Dorlaine as he tried not to cry. Wally gently pats his shoulder as he didn't knew what to do at this moment.

"She really liked you you know as a brother I mean" said Mr. Dorlaine looking at Wally.

"Really?" Asked Wally tilting his head. Mr. Dorlaine chuckled a little but nods.

"Yes she always spoke about you especially about the show she loved every single one of you" said Mr. Dorlaine as a single tear dropped from his face as Mr. Dorlaine began to cry. The pain was just too much for him, for losing someone precious is the worst feeling of all. Wally pats his back as he felt bad to see Mr. Dorlaine like this. Then, a idea came to mind as he gets up rather quickly and gets to work.

"Wally please leave me alone I need to work on something important" said Mr. Dorlaine. Wally nods as he gets up from his chair and walked away leaving Mr. Dorlaine all alone. Mr. Dorlaine locked the door as he gets everything he needs to make a puppet, but not just a ordinary puppet for he wanted to create a puppet that represents his precious daughter so he wouldn't be all alone. He prepared all the fabrics for the body and head as he stitched and sewed fabrics for the dress and shoes. He hummed a soft tune that Mr. Dorlaine and his daughter used to sing all the time to cheer one up as he smiled softly.

"Don't worry my little girl you'll be here with me again with papa" said Mr. Dorlaine as he patched everything up and gets the body as he looked at the photo and writes something down as he folds it and gently placed it inside the puppet body near its chest and patched it up. Mr. Dorlaine then added its dress to the puppet and got ready to designed its hair. He grabs blue hair as styled it with pretty curls and added a apple hairpin to the hair along with a red headband as he gets red satin and made it look like little bunny ears around the headband. For the dress the top was blue as for the skirt is yellow with blue, yellow and red patterns around the hem of the dress. Mr. Dorlaine spend all night making the puppet as for the finishing touch he decided to placed little wings on the back of the puppet to represent his little angel up above. Everything looked perfect as he smiled softly seeing the sleeping puppet as he grew tired and yawned falling asleep on his desk.

The door unlocked as Wally stepped inside with the spare key Mr. Dorlaine gave him as he looked around and noticed him asleep, but also noticed the sleeping puppet. Wally stepped closer as he stared at her and gently tapped her face as the sleeping puppet stayed motionless.

"Hello?" Asked Wally tilting his head. The puppet didn't said anything as it just stood still. Wally looked confused as he placed a blanket around Mr. Dorlaine and walked to the door, but then heard a little thud as Wally turned around and noticed the puppet on the floor.

"Oww..." said the puppet as she tried to get up but her legs felt wiggly as she falls on the floor again.

"Oh your awake" said Wally walking to the girl and helped her up. The girl looked at Wally as she tilted her head.

"Who are You?" Asked the girl.

"I'm Wally. Wally Darling" said Wally with a little smile.

"Wally" said the girl as she smiled.

"Yes. What about you?" Asked Wally looking at the girl.

"Eve..." said a male voice as both Wally and the girl turned and stared at Mr. Dorlaine who had a shocked expression.

"Eve?" Asked the girl tilting her head. Mr. Dorlaine chuckled as he walked up to the girl and smiled.

"Yes my dear that's your name. Evelyn Dorlaine well that was my daughter but since she's not here no more how about Evelyn Rose Darling?" Asked Mr. Dorlaine smiling.

"That's my last name" said Wally smiling.

"Yes Wally but remember what I told you? How my daughter loved you as a brother? Well I decided to make that official between you two as brother and sister" said Mr. Dorlaine smiling.

"That's the most!" Said Wally smiling as he looked at Evelyn who was also smiling and clapped her hands cheerfully.

"I have a big brother!" Yelled Evelyn as she runs to Wally and hugs him tightly for Evelyn was rather short than Wally as she stepped on her tippy toes to hug Wally as she smiled. Wally went limp from the hug as Evelyn looked confused and released from the hug as Mr. Dorlaine chuckled.

"It's ok sweetie he's fine now how about I show you the rest?" Asked Mr. Dorlaine smiling.

"The rest?" Asked Evelyn tilting her head. Mr. Dorlaine smiled as he gently picked up Evelyn and walked out his office as Wally followed behind them.
